  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I believe that the problems plaguing America are the results of seperating God from this country. So many philosophical, moral, and political bombs are destroying this country already because people do not use the Bible as a foundation for their lives. If everyone could do this, this country would be better. Not counting abortion, America has the highest murder rate in the world. Maybe due to the fact of lack of fear since the death penalty was taken out. Crime has increased. The morals are in shambles. Divorce rates are higher than ever. More than ever, we need God's help in our lives to keep us strong during this time. Society is getting worse in the fact of mocking Christians. It might turn into persecution someday. May God help us in these following years. What do you guys think?

I don't mean to be offensive when I say this, but it was the direct effort of Jewish rights groups in the very early 20th century that got many things such as bible readings and school prayer taken out of the schools, and later on worked to get the blue laws overturned.

If one supports Israel, then how can they reconcile this with their view of God's people if said people are promoting what you consider to be godlessness in America?

I thought it was mainly Madalyn Murray O'Hair that was the driving force behind removing prayer from school here in the US via the Supreme Court case that ruled prayer in school as unconstitutional.

I too am interested in the source of this information regarding Jewish rights groups.

Groups such as the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith (founded 1913) are quite interested in promoting the complete separation of church and state. Since 1947, this group has filed amicus briefs in every Supreme Court case concerning this topic and other civil rights interests of theirs. The O'Hair case was in 1963.

They are a minority religion that doesn't want the majority to have free reign and this includes the reading of the bible in schools, prayer in schools, keeping them from working on Sundays, displaying ten commandments, nativity scenes, etc. It makes a lot of sense for them to take such a stance.

However, my point is, if you think these stances to be godless, then how do you reconcile (speaking to the OP) your belief that they are God's chosen people?

My particular problem with these groups is that while I am all for Civil Liberties in the US (indeed I agree with them on quite a few of their stances), I do not understand their hypocrisy when it comes to Zionism and their support of a lack of Civil Liberties in Israel.

Interesting and much more suited to minds a bit more intellectual than mine...:)

Real sources, not just a reference to B'nai B'rith. You said direct effort of Jewish rights groups, so it should be difficult at all to supply sources.

I can't actually post links as I don't have enough posts. The ADL wants complete separation of church and state in the US, no prayer in schools, etc. They'll even send teachers who request it a kit on how to handle the topic of religion in the classroom. The irony is they don't care about pursuing the same sort of thing in Israel. They're big on the Zionism.

Basic Information on the ADL:

Here is the ADL on the ADL with amicus briefs and everything. You think they make what they do a secret?

If you go into the 'blessings & exchange' section, they have forum game
count threads that you can make & just make random count threads
to bump your posts up enough to post links
