  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Often in our life, we are waiting for God to do something, its really hard to wait.
The silence from God causes us to pray and to grieve. The silence tests our faith & trust in Him to the very core, as gold is purified in fire so we are purified in silence.
Why struggle to try and open a closed door? It is better to submit at His feet and worship the Lord. It is here that strength will come and a supernatural peace and joy that will sustain you until His appointed time.
The disciples were praying and praying in a small church for Peter, and nothing that they could do could open that DOOR of the prison until Gods set time.

But look when the RIGHT time came, the doors OPENED by them selves!!! No effort required on Peters part. God opened the iron door.

The same for us, when Gods time finally comes, He will open the door for us we wont even have to push it, that really wonderful.

There may be things that we are waiting upon God for in prayer, a spouse may be? A career? A family member or friend to be saved?

When the time is right and you have laboured in prayer and done all that you can do on your part; then God will move His mighty hand to do the impossible.

So even though you may sigh, do wait and hope in God.

Amen Songz,

And if you don't mind, I would like to add that we need to also question the true motive of our prayers. Are we really praying for His will or are we trying to take His teachings and make them fit into our life?

As Christians, we have often heard or even said ourselves “I want to follow God’s will for my life”, but do we really want that or are we just hoping, listening for a “feeling” that affirms our own desires/will, and call it a word from God? Have you given EVERYTHING you want in a mate – and I mean EVERYTHING to God? Have you told Him “God, I rebuke my selfish desires and place my trust in You to bring me the one that you have for me?” Do you trust Him enough to do that?

Yes, I know you have all these things that you need in order to be attracted to someone (or at least you think) but brother/sister, our Father has already proven to us that He can be trusted to back up His word, but can He trust you? Can He trust you to be open to His plan for what if it goes entirely against what you want?

God never, ever makes mistakes and that when the time is right for His plan to work in us, then we will know according to His quiet but effective following for us.

Hello my friend:) the answer to your question is yes, I am glad to say. I have handed over the kind of woman she is, her size (large or slim), height (tall or short), race, abilities even dis-abilities. I have handed over my desire for a woman who is ie: blond, blue eyes 5.2" slim rich etc. I jave asked Him to choose for me whom He wants and to prepare me for His choice so that even if now it would not be my choice, when His time comes I will be delighted. Also I have even handed and gave up my faith to God in the matter but He graciousally gave me back my request some years ago.

 I wonder if more people did this, would we have so many Christian singles disgruntled because they couldn't find "the one"?
