  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The baptism of the holy Spirit is as follows.

Rom 6:3-4
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. KJV

Then we are baptized with fire (fiery trials).

2 Cor 4:10-12
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you. KJV

This experience does not come through delighting in the Law and/or the promises only. This experience comes when the sin that dwells in our flesh comes alive and slays us as we delight in the spiritual quality of the law through the inner man as the Voice of the Lord speaks to our conscience, then the law of the Spirit of life that is in Christ Jesus raises us up and the lusts of this life are crucified as the body of sin is put to death.

This experience was given to Abraham at the age of 99 and onward as the Sovereign Lord spoke to Abraham what he wanted Abraham to do and as he spoke what he was going to do. Abraham's liberty as made manifest in Hagar and Ishmael had to be cut off and eventually sent out of the camp.

Rom 6:6-8
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
KJV

Today...

Does true worship hinge on the day it's offered? If SDAs worship God on Wednesday, is their worship untrue? If we offer untrue worship, are we in danger of the mark of the beast?
BFA

The short answer to this question would be no. If anyone of you answers yes, then you all need to stop scheduling prayer meeting on Wednesday night.

I sense that too.

I similarly wonder why God would be displeased if I worshipped Him on a Sunday. Are we going to cancel any Revelation Seminars and Camp Meetings scheduled on Sundays to avoid the appearance that Sunday is the new and improved sabbath?

See now, BFA, I deleted the portion of my post that went into the seminars and campmeeting, etc. We are good for beginning our revivals, evangelistic efforts on a Sunday night. And, correct me if I am wrong, but there are worship "services" every night at camp meeting.

An even better question, do we believe that God is "less present" at the services held on other days?

I sense that too.
