God is SO faithful

I don't want to be too specific about my recent situation, but I had something that I had to fast from as it was becoming a distraction and I was unsure if God was in 'it' at all.

I prayed and fasted for 7 days, and the very next day after the fast ended God answered my prayers and honoured everything I asked for!

I love the Lord. A bit of obedience goes a long way!!!!

Sorry about being stupid but by fasting do you mean totally no food? or only certain foods? And you could drink? I'd do this if God would answer my (continual, desperate) prayers.

Sometimes I've fasted from things... like my best friend, or television, or talking on the phone. (My best friend was the hardest). I usually don't fast unless I feel like God is putting it on my heart. I'm "fasting" from tv at the moment. I'm not watching because I began to look forward to watching tv rather than spending time with God. I fasted once because I thought that if I fasted, God would just have to give this thing I desired. But I never really asked God and I thought that my sacrifice would be good enough to get it, in reality it is all about God's grace and Jesus' sacrifice. I don't think I really believed I would get it anyway, I didn't have the best faith then...

In this instance I fasted a person. No contact of any kind for 7 days. But you can also fast food or possesions. Ask a mature christian at your church to help you out with fasting, as its something that needs to be done with God and wisely.

With food generally its all food, and only drink water. But its diff for diff people.

I started fasting from food yesterday for 3 days. I would do more but over the past few weeks I've lost a lot of weight and don't want to end up in hospital. I hope God help me because I don't know what else to do.
