Imagine a bear walking in the forest stumbled into a trap and got it's leg caught in it. The more it struggled, the more deeper the trap went in his leg. A dude came around and saw how the bear was trapped. He took his gun and shot a tranquiliser to the bear to put it to sleep. Then after the trap was loosened, the bear woke up and went on its way freed from the snare.
To us all and i guarantee you that you've gone through one of this before, you might feel that God is gonna hunt you and do nasty things. The bear in the trap can't interpret the man's intentions. The bear doesn't know hes trying to save him and if the man did come near the bear, the bear would probably wack him silly fearing for his life. To free him from the trap, he had to put him through a much worse situation or so the bear thought in order to do that.
We could use the same situation in our lives too. God sometimes has to 'shoot us to sleep' before he can free us from a trap. We'd get to a bad situation, sort of something that keeps us captive and struggle alot only to sink deeper. Then when God comes to the rescue, we get to a biiiig but brief moment of 'apparent life threatening danger'. Then after we wake up, we're like: "Ooooooh so that's what He was doing."
Usually things get worse before they get better. Just one of many awesome ways God can free us.
