Matthew 9:35-38 "And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." [kjv]
We're living in a world, with plenty of sheep with no Shepard. The Sheep in this case would be the people, out in the world and they have no Shepard because they don't have Jesus. There's plenty of harvest, but the laborers are few. So many crops (People) to gather unto to the Lord, but so few workers to do it. It's harvest time and we need to start being a light for the Lord and start saving some souls. We need to get the Gospel out there to the multitudes, but there aren't enough of us. If you're a Christian and you don't do any work for the Lord, you need to start.
Everyone has a different job in the body of Christ.
Whoever you are, God has a job for you! God, is hiring full time employees! Maybe your job is to just shine and be a light.
Maybe the job waiting for you, is to stand up and preach the gospel or it could be something that seems very small to you, but not to God. Sometimes we're not happy with our works, we think they're too small. However every work is needed just as much as the others.
It's called, "Balance" If everyone worked the same job, who would work at the other jobs? Everyone and every job is needed, so don't think of the job God gives you as a worthless one.
We were all unsaved sinners at one time and now the only difference is we're saved and we're slowly changing, into the image of Christ. However, it's our job not to keep our mouth's shut about the Gospel.
Also, to be able to minister to others you must first be ministered to, by reading your Bible daily. We're living in the worse times ever and people need Jesus, as they always did. We can't hide it from the people,
We must get the Gospel out anyway we can! We owe it to the one who gives us salvation (Jesus Christ)! He died on a cross for the sins of the world, would it be right to keep that from others?
Would it be right to keep His pain and suffering from benefiting everyone as much as He wanted it to? Not only do we need to do works for Christ, but we need to pray for more workers. We need to pray for the world, to meet Jesus. Because He died for the whole world!
Prayer: Dear Father, we want to thank you, for your salvation through your Son and for everything! We also, pray that you will send forth more laborers, into your harvest. also we pray for the world, come to know the one who died for them and their sins. Help us to make a difference and help us find the work, you want us to do for you! In Jesus name.
