Someone on another site I visit has been fighting the gospel a lot. But some how God turned it around. I asked him why He hated God so much and when he answered I was able to show him how God wasn't the one the blame should fall on. He began to ask real questions then. This is a quote from him and my responce. Please let me know if I could have done better.

Im actualy serious too.
My responce as follows:
It didn't sound strange at all. No worries.
Well, there is a few verses I know of in the bible that deal with this question. I am glad you are at least wondering about these things. If ya get lost in all this just read how I summed it up at the bottom.
I know I didn't find my direction untill God called me and taught me. Yes He can help you on that, in fact I am under the impresstian that the ONLY way to have an actual direction and purpose to life is God. Let me give you some verses that deal with your question on how to go about finding Him (and you started good already by the way).
Song of Solomon 3:
1 By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
2 I will rise now, and go about the city in the streets, and in the broad ways I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
3 The watchmen that go about the city found me: to whom I said, Saw ye him whom my soul loveth?
4 It was but a little that I passed from them, but I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.
These verses are a part of a great story of love here. Let me explain them to you. In verse one the person wants to find God.
In verse 2 the person begins to look for God in all kinds of religions and things. That is the "broad way". God is not in "religion" to be worshiped and found with mens hands or works. He calls us to reason with Him and to walk with Him. He is a God that is not worshiped by works but by Love.
In verse 3 LOL...this is the verse you are in. Like the watchmen that this person came across, you have come across me. And like this person asked her watchmen (those that keep guard on the city and know where the King of it is) you have asked me the right question. And I will answer you.
In verse 4 the woman has goten her instruction and goes the way the watchmen said. She finds her love. The person finds God and will not let Him go.
Now let me show you how to go about finding Him.
Song of Solomon 1:
7 Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?
8 If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents.
In verse 7 here the person seeking God asks how to go about finding Him.
In verse 8 God answers and sayes if you don't know how, follow those that do. And as I told you, that is not religion, it is Love. Simply listen to the instructions given by those who know God in truth and not in religion.
Compare me to the watchmen and the flock. Because that is what I am. As the watchman I will tell you the state of things. All have sined as I am sure you know. But God is forgiving and Loving. Call on Him. It is actualy simple faith. You see...this is not blind faith as some have said. We know God is real because of His many works. And we know that this God hears all and sees all. So we can know that He hears us when we call on Him.
Now it is true, we may not get an answer (the way we understand anyway). But that doesn't mean God has not heard. You see...God has given us His words already. So He answered us already. We call on God and say "Give me a billian dollars!" He answered already and said You have not because you ask amiss and in lust for money. In other words He said you asked the wrong question. The words He said are in the bible. Even the watchmen speak them (as I did, not even knowing the scriptures before).
As a shepard I can tell you where you can learn about God. The bible is one place. The chuch (true church) is another. The words of God spoken by the men of God teach you. And even they are bound by the scriptures, because they are the word of God in print.
LOL, all that that I said and now I want to write one thing to sum it all up. I am funny like that lol.
We are all seeking God. Some of us have found Him. If you call on Him (who hears and is a live God) He answeres or has already answered. If you ask to be forgiven He said yes already because of Jesus, just trust in that. If you ask for direction in life He said follow Him, He will lead you. If you ask for the void in life to be filled He said "I will come in".
If you don't know what He already said, ask those who do. I am still here and willing to talk with you about anything. I just hope this long post didn't harm you any. I tend to talk a lot when it comes to this matter. But that last paragraph sumed it up. If this was just confusing please feel free to ask the question again. I will keep all this between me and you. Please let me know if this answered you or just confused you. Love ya man (sry if that sounded funny lol).
