Dear Daily Message Readers,

READ: James 3

James 3:15, 17 (NLT) "For jealousy and selfishness are not God's kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and motivated by the Devil.17But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no partiality and is always sincere."

Life is full of choices that require God’s unfailing wisdom. From small choices to larger ones, wisdom is the backbone that should guide our decisions.

However, wisdom is not found in those who well-educated or even those who have no education. In fact, a collection of information in one's mind doesn't add up to insight and understanding. No learning and education in the world can give us the truth about God and His will, His incomprehensible grace, or the good news concerning Jesus Christ and salvation from sin. For that type of knowledge, we need the Bible--and we always will.

In James 3, the apostle warns us against obtaining human wisdom. He says that selfish ambition is a sign of earthly wisdom. Selfish ambition--pride--reveals someone who shows an incredible desire for power, control, and prestige. We must be careful never to fall for this type of wisdom.

Ephesians 1:17 "[Ask] God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you might grow in your knowledge of God."

Are you facing a difficult choice today? Are you anticipating a problem? Then pray for God's perfect wisdom and accept His peace (Eph. 1:17). His wisdom gives us peace that gives us the strength to face the world.

Faith Lesson: We can obtain information from all most anywhere, but wisdom—God-given wisdom--comes from the Creator alone. In Christ,
