  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, it is hard, but we don't know the end of the story. He does. I think sometimes he can use bad circumstances to help us to learn to be more Christ-like. We develop certain traits in bad times, that we couldn't if life were always rosy. Sometimes they just make you a better, stronger person, more equiped to do His work. I have found that for me, when circumstances are bad, to try to find someone worse off than me and try to help them. It sounds almost too corny, but it works, because it takes my mind off my problems and I start focusing on making someone else's life better in whatever small way I can. And doing THAT makes me focus more on Christ, because that was how he lived His life. His circumstances weren't so great, but He didn't dwell on it, he helped people. He'll help you, too. But you have to be patient.

I agree with what Christi has said.

A scripture that has come to mind is Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

No matter what circumstances we are going through in our lives we have the assurance that as believers God is working something good out of it.

God bless you

Hi Brenda
Its good to see you out and about the internet. I think the best way to overcome circumstances is to try to shift our focus from ourselves to God. Notice in this Psalm that in the first 6 verses there are 18 references to I or me. In the last 6 verses threr are 21 references to God. Focus on the greatness of God. Remember who God is and what He has done throughout History as told in the Bible. If you can shift your focus from yourself and onto God it will help.

I hope things are getting a little better. I an still praying for you. God Bless.

Psalm 71

1
O LORD, you are my refuge;
never let me be disgraced.
2
Rescue me! Save me from my enemies, for you are just.
Turn your ear to listen and set me free.
3
Be to me a protecting rock of safety,
where I am always welcome.
Give the order to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.
4
My God, rescue me from the power of the wicked,
from the clutches of cruel oppressors.
5
O Lord, you alone are my hope.
I've trusted you, O LORD, from childhood.
6
Yes, you have been with me from birth;
from my mother's womb you have cared for me.
No wonder I am always praising you!
7
My life is an example to many,
because you have been my strength and protection.
8
That is why I can never stop praising you;
I declare your glory all day long.
9
And now, in my old age, don't set me aside.
Don't abandon me when my strength is failing.
10
For my enemies are whispering against me.
They are plotting together to kill me.
11
They say, "God has abandoned him.
Let's go and get him,
for there is no one to help him now."
12
O God, don't stay away.
My God, please hurry to help me.
13
Bring disgrace and destruction on those who accuse me.
May humiliation and shame cover
those who want to harm me.
14
But I will keep on hoping for you to help me;
I will praise you more and more.
15
I will tell everyone about your righteousness.
All day long I will proclaim your saving power,
for I am overwhelmed by how much you have done for me.
16
I will praise your mighty deeds, O Sovereign LORD.
I will tell everyone that you alone are just and good.
17
O God, you have taught me from my earliest childhood,
and I have constantly told others about the wonderful things you do.
18
Now that I am old and gray,
do not abandon me, O God.
Let me proclaim your power to this new generation,
your mighty miracles to all who come after me.
19
Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the highest heavens.
You have done such wonderful things.
Who can compare with you, O God?
20
You have allowed me to suffer much hardship,
but you will restore me to life again
and lift me up from the depths of the earth.
21
You will restore me to even greater honor
and comfort me once again.
22
Then I will praise you with music on the harp,
because you are faithful to your promises, O God.
I will sing for you with a lyre,
O Holy One of Israel.
23
I will shout for joy and sing your praises,
for you have redeemed me.
24
I will tell about your righteous deeds
all day long,
for everyone who tried to hurt me
has been shamed and humiliated.

That He created this pain in my life. A pain in the *** grandad that nakes our lives miserable (and nobody takes care of him), and he is not my responsibility. He is not my responsibility. Grumpy old man all day. You cant understand that . I wont write that here. I hate my life. I hate the miserable ****ing life He gave me. I hate God for the things He cause in my life. He robbed my peace, my money, my school. My dreams, my ilussions. He robbed my health. He robbed my mother´s job. The house is a hell.

I hate Him, you hear me!
I hate Him!

He destroyed my life and dreams to his own satisfaction and selfish purposes! I hate Him because he is the most horrible being I ve ever met in life. I hate Him for the hurt he caused me. I doubt that the devil caused all this. Or maybe He ---GOD-- sent his lovely angel the devil to destroy my life.

He destroyed my life. He destroyed my dreams and because of Him I am doomed.- He is the one that f**my life. I am angry.

I hate Him!!!!!!!!

Brenda, you seem to have a very distorted, erroneous view of God. He hasn't done this to you. If your grandad's grouchy, maybe it's your grandad's fault. And you said no one takes care of him, maybe that's why he's grouchy. God just doesn't try to destroy people's lives. He loves them. He loves you, but you are so busy hating Him, you can't feel it or see it.

God loves you in spite of your hate for Him. That is why He sent His Son Jesus. Surrender to Christ and let Him replace your anger and resentment with peace. He has done it many times throughout History. Read the bible and you will find many stories of Christians going through trials, being killed and thrown into jail. God gave them strength to persevere through that just as He is giving you the strength. Run towards Him not away from Him.

Please Baby, don't be so mad. Our life here really is short and eternity is so long. Please, look around you. There are things to be thankful for. Just find one small thing to be thankful for. You will feel God lift you up to high. You will begin to see an end to the things you dispise and a growning of the things in life that make us happy. God is not hurting you, Satan has a full hand in all this. Turn to God in your prayers and he will bless you and your life.
