God given vision

Hey all,

Here in a few days I'm planning on giving a Bible study on God given vision, not as in like supernatural visions(which I believe are real)but like a purpose that God has set before you. God given goals,that sort of thing.

The problem is that I"m having trouble finding scripture specific to it.I've heard some sermons on it,so I'm pretty sure they're in the Word,I'm just not sure where.

To make matters worse I lost my Amplified Study Bible a few weeks ago by driving off with it on the roof of my car after getting kicked out of Wal-Mart for witnessing to people.

So anyway, and insight and scripture reference would be a huge help.

And for anyone curious, my friends and I (all of us between the ages of 15 and 17) have built and are now overseeing a youth room where we have worship and Bible studies on Friday nights. It's really quite a deal. It started with about 8 guys and now we run about 30 guys and girls on Fridays. God's really blessing us for being obedient. But I believe that he has a lot more in store for His ministry through us, and I believe the bigger the vision, the more faith and the more prayer that will be put into it, which is the basis of the message I'm going to give,I just want to be sure I"m in line iwth the Word.

How about discussing how God gave Moses his purpose, how Moses wasn't ready to accept that b/c of his stuttering issue, and God let him know that He knew what He was doing. Or when God told Jeremiah his purpose, and Jeremiah thought he was too young, but God corrected him.

You mean, situations like that ? Or something else ?

Awesome,yea,that's really what I meant. I think I'm also going to talk about in the Bible where it talks about how through faith we call things as not as though they are, and talk about stepping out in faith to further God's kingdom. Thanks guys.

Doing a Bible study on the Joseph in Genesis 37 would be kewl, beneficial, and somtin the youth could well relate to...! Main lessons, don't boast about the visions God gives...He will work all things (especially bad circumstances) for good (Romans 8:28!)...Divine visions may take a longgggggggggg time before they are actually realized, and to recognize that the waiting is God's school of preparation for His blessing...certainly need to be filled inwardly with His character and wisdom to be able to handle His glory and responsibilities outwardly!
