No, it isn't.

Didn't God say that it wasn't good for man to be alone? He didn't create a best friend for Adam. He made Him a wife.

That's a good argument for having sexual intercourse. Not marriage.

You have that backwards. Sex is for those linked in Marriage alone.

So is celibacy. Why would someone necessarily choose marriage over that?

I have another take on why Jesus did not marry or have children. Had he married and had children, some would have venerated them to a god-like status. Imagine if you will that there were descendants of our Lord today, if they were to allow it people would worship them. See how people worship sports stars, actors and singers. Remember in the ancient world there were many tales of Greek/Roman gods having impregnated human women and creating half-god children such as Hercules. So I think this may have been one of many reasons.

Another reason I really believe which has been brought up already is that the church is the bride of Jesus. The analogy would lose a lot of weight had he married. He had to remain pure for his true bride and in all ways be tempted as we are, but unlike us he did not give into those temptations. The perfect lamb and holy groom.

what a wonderfull post you have here..spot on. I especailly LOVE the man and woman made one flesh in conjunction with eph 5:32, so many miss this, and will even rail against it, its so clear.

Whats interesting is His jealousy connected to our departing from him and turning to another or even our "thinking about" it.

Im wondering if these connect, dont know yet as I havent proved them out yet, but it will be just the way something is worded to cause me to seek it out and how it can be found elsewhere...

Notice Paul jealous with a GODLY jealousy here (as it pertains to husband and wife)
