• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Well then God thinks I'm a superman because he give me ALOT of temptation...

I struggle with desire everyday well... not desire but boredom. In my boredom I seek out lustful things and temptations... And the worst part of it the entire time I am doing it I think "I'm sorry God, I'm sorry" but I continue on anyways.
I know what I'm doing is wrong to the point that it is now destroying my health and my ability to have decent relationships with the opposite sex.

God does not tempt us, as the Bible states. Your temptation comes from your flesh, or, as in some cases, the devil and his demons. If you give in to that temptation and do what you know is wrong, you give the devil entrance into your life, and your sin will destroy you.

I know it can be very difficult to resist temptation, but the more you suffer, the more you know not sinning is what you need to do. In your brokenness, God will help you.

I believe this to be true that God will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear and always offers us a way out. Our problem is that the flesh is week even once we are saved, and that battle will go on until the day we die. Kind of like the poem about the two natures within.....the one we feed will dominate. If we can choose to not give in to this temptation then we are feeding that Spirit within and it will begin to dominate our lives.
I do however believe that God will allow things in our lives that are more than we can bear. This is often misinterpreted, but I feel that verse in context is strictly about temptation. Paul writes in Romans I believe, of conditions while he was imprisoned that were so bad that they despaired of life itself. That sounds to me like it was more than they could bear.
I hope you find the strength to not give in to your temptation. As someone else said you are not alone in this struggle, and perhaps you could find some Christian accountability partners to help you through this.
Take comfort in the fact that if we are Christians the Spirit of God resides in us and the more we feed that Spirit by allowing it to control us and trying to be Christlike, the more success we will have in winning those battles. Keep up the good fight.

In Christ,

Mark
