God calls the shots of "when" something is incest. The first man was the posessor of DNA that we have never had a look at (some good it would do us if we could??!), and it was the DNA that would produce generations. Adam was originally created without the sin and death nature or disease that immediately exposed his physical body to death. How long did it take to wear down that first man??? 930 years before he finally died. Mankind has devolved from that point to less than 100 years to approximatly 70 years.

This is an interesting question though, I don ot believe that Adam and Eve are two literal people so the metraphocial incest is really not a literal issue, but for those who for some reason believe Adam and Eve to be the literal ancestors of humanity I would like to see how they reason this.

It's not incest til God says it is. The prohibition against marrying a close relative didn't come until Moses day. And then the law was only given to Israel. Remember too that Noah's wife gave birth to three different racial types. Rebekah did as well (two manner of people) So we might assume that Eve's reproductive system (ovaries) contained enough genetic diversity to insure against the damage usually associated with incestuous inbreeding.

If you stare at this verse long enough you can almost infer the diversity in Eve's ovaries.

At the time of creation, the genetic line was pure. It wasn't until later, at the time of Moses, that incest was then forbidden as the genetic pool became less and less able to stand interbreeding.
