I suppose I do have a quick question: Where do I go to learn some of the vernacular around here? Such as reputation, blessings and such? It's all a little confusing!

How strange, I got a PM (private message) from a member here (Chrisbot) and tried to thank him for the greeting but I was then told I am not allowed to send messages to him? Is that something else I am not allowed to do until I have been around longer?

As far as I know Chrisbot is an automated account, which sends a welcome to new members, and also deals with anonymous blessings (there is an option when you bless people to make it anonymous, what actually happens is it arrived from chrisbot)
