God before Game

I struggled with it a long time. It is very important that we spend time with God before we spend so much time in our games. It is hard sometimes because games are so mind stimulating. Any of you struggle with managing your time with God and games?

at times i did, but i have found a happy medium.

I play games for about a half an hour a day, averaged out. I used to play 3 hours a day or so. Now if I can only get TV under control.

Since returning I changed my degree path, the work load has become more demanding. I now avergage about 30-60 minutes a night if I can, playing a game. The rest of the time is the usual duties, get dinner ready, spend time with the family, etc. Except weekends - Friday nights are the nights I use to burn off some weekly stress through a nice game.

While I have cut back on the gaming, I find myself hanging out in the forums more while watching the History Channel. Can't win for losing sometimes..

no problem here, i give 24/7 of my time to God even when i cant i still give God time

kind of funny that this thread would be here. Today, while playing ocarina of Time, water temple (best temple of game) I found myself thinking "I really should do some Bible reading. havent done it in awhile" what was my decision, well..........

lets put it this way, I'm in the same boat you are.

I have never played that game, but I know how addicting they can be. Especially strategy games - the bit about, "I'll just get to this point and quit..." never works, because then you want to move forward.

That is the reason I am a "zombie" today... the cruel after effects of an evening of Lords of the Realm III. (something the game manufacturers never tell the gamer about... think it's a Government conspiracy. )

yes. Its like, "oh i'll just beat that temple" then theres a real cool cutscene than 2 hours later I finally quit. Zelda games are really adicting! i think I played until like midnight last night and I was practically dead in school today. there just isnt enough hours in the coarse of a day. video games always get pushed back until late at night. but of coarse, the Lord always should come first before anything.

While I was tempted to write "it's notjhing like porn, how can you compare CS to porn?" I wont.

It's only us that puts a grade on "sin".

The simple fact is, ANYTHING that gets between you and God is bad. Equally bad!

I don't game anymore... it took up far too much of my time, and I wouldn't exactly call HALO and D&D 'godly'...
