You can't argue that God doesn't exist by saying he made/created/allowed evil things to happen/be in this world. That is like saying to the architect of a house that he doesn't exist because the people who live inside broke the kitchen counter and burned down the porch.

To even say there is something good and something evil is to admit that there is a standard to measure such things. That standard cannot be a "feeling".

If one person feels like eating the flesh from newborn babies, I would say that most would agree that is wrong. If you base the standard of rightness or evilness on feeling then you would be forced to concede that the baby-eater is indeed within his right to do so because his feelings are valid enough for his morality.

If so, I would say that you who condone such acts are evil.

Thus, what we ought to do is distinct from what is actually done in reality. You the atheist cannot judge anything because you have no solid standard to judge from. You stand on a pedestal made of sand. When the tide of the world comes through, as time passes, you must step somewhere else. Where do you stand?

I stand on the rock of the Truth. God is real.

You are forgetting one of god's traits, that he is omniscient and omnipotent.

Being omnipotent would give him the ability to prevent evil from happening.

Now, some options arise.

1) He willingly lets it happen. (evil)
2) He isn't omnipotent.
3) He doesn't exist.

None of those are Christian beliefs.

God did create everything, but He has a plan to make it all work together for good to those that love Him and answer His call (are the called) according to His purpose.
A person could try and paint a portrait of masterpiece on a level like this world and the creation of it, white upon white, but it cannot be revealed or done. There has to be a perfect contrast to the light and that is black - the absolute abscense of light, which the devil represents. God paints contrast with the devil and has the power to change his evil done into good over time, but only for those wo use that contrast of choice in love. Evil eventually is defeated and falls by the way. The devil thinks he wins many times, like at the cross where innocence is crucified in Jesus, but the end result is salvation for all with Him carrying the weight of mankind's sins upon His shoulders for us in love. So you see, even evil works out for good in the end because of God's power over time and eternity. He knows the future and how to fix what is done for evils sake - turning it around for good..

Ro 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

You bending things a whole lot here.

Nothing can be more good than God, no evil can make things better than the initial perfect goodness of God. He is omnipotent after all.

If bad things didn't happen in the World, and everyone obeyed the wishes of God, this World would be pretty boring.

God created every person to DIE.
Some people live longer than others ... but we all DIE.

In my mind, God doesn't ALLOW bad people in the World, he creates bad people in the World.

Then, God gives each bad person the chance to better himself.
God created War, and Famine, and Diseases.
It's up to people to try to avoid them.

God also created Judaism, for God's "chosen people" to honor Him.
Some did, and some didn't.

God also created Christianity.
When you bask in God's Love, whatever is happening in the World is less important.
Feeling good can be as easy as a little prayer, or cuddling your child.
Each person can detach from worrying about what's happening in the rest of the World.

Many martyrs, for instance.
They are FULL of happiness and ecstasy.
They are beaten, and smiling all the time.
As they are dying, they sing praises to God.

The World is only as awful as the person looking at it thinks it is.
I am happy with the state of the World.
I am also very happy at the state of my own little World.
God is good.

Boring? God created uniquely created each and every one of us with differents gifts and purposes. We can all obey God and still remain creative and unique.

I'm not sure where you get your theology from. Do you just make it up and go with what feels good? It certainly doesn't go by the Bible. God created to have a loving relationship with Him forever.

The Bible is very clear that the wages of sin is death. So by Adams one sin death entered the world. And since we are all decendants of Adam then we will die. On that ONE point you are correct.

Chapter 5 of the book Romans explains to us that we all under sin because of Adams one sin. War may have been made in God's name, but it was man who created it. Famine is a result of human greed. And disease is the direct result of sin in the world. Mankind's sin.

Faith in God isn't about FEELING good. It's about BEING good.

Our faith in God shouldn't seperate us from the world. But His love for the world should be shown through us.

Reality isn't defined by our perception of it. Reality is defined by truth which is defined by God who is absolute.

I disagree. I believe God wants us to focus our attention on the Spiritual world, and concern ourselves LESS with this Carnal world we live in.

Actually I don't see Spirituality quite the way that you do.
Different strokes for different folks.
