Add to that the amount of fear mongering and lying that is done in the name of Global warming and you have quite the recipe for being ignored. If you and others really cared about the environment you'd work with people not against them.
Notice how all the liberal remedies for global warming just happen to put burdens on the private sector and to enhance the power of government.
What about the state? Is it not wasteful of resources? Does it not contribute to what liberals see is an imminent environmental danger to us all?
Let's take one "for instance": the incredible consumption of natural resources by the government school system. For 180 days a year, we transport tens of millions of children by bus to air conditioned and heated central facilities. Several million teachers and staff commute everyday to work in very expensive to built brick and mortar facilites. The economic cost is well over $400 billion a year. Why don't we hear calls from the left to decentralize that system? To move large chunks of it to the internet, the home and private local facilites which, because they are market directed, are far more frugile consumers of natural resources? Why no call to eliminate the boondoggle called the "Department of Education", take the billions we spend every year there on meaningless paperwork and use to to fund research on clean, renewable energy?
That is one example. There are, although mostly smaller in scale, hundreds more. But the left never ever seeks to conserve when it comes to government projects.* The more the better. No matter how wasteful they are.
*the one exception being National Defense. Which happens to be one of the few things the Federal government does which it is constitutionally empowered to do. Education is not mentioned in the constitution and liberals never cease calling for more Federal money for that. Defense is and they want it cut.
