I would like to see some real evidence that
Global warming is happening.
All I have discovered the average temperature is going down rather then up.

There is no question that the Earth is slilghtly warmer now than it was 100 or so years ago.

Whether this is a manmade process or a natural process is yet to be deteremined. However pollution is not exactly good, and I don't think it'd hurt us to make sure we have cleaner energy.

I agree
I would believe that part of the temperature differnce is that we are still unthawing from the ICE Age
another factor would be the cycles of the Ocean Current (there are Warm-Cold Cycles that take about 200 years to entireley cycle)
and the fact that the photoplankton Help govern the Temperature

The Sun Burns itself up so that it shrinks about 5 feet per second, with this rate we need all the greenhouse gases we can get

lol. That's not significant, considering that the sun has a diameter of 1.392×106 km (109 times Earth's diameter), at least on any sort of timeline that involves human beings.

Also, afaik, the correct term is hour. The sun shrinks about 5 feet every hour. Not second. Hour.

This is why psedoscience and ignorance should never be employed by policy makers.

The problem is that if we correct for all the natural warming trends that we know of, we still cannot explain all the warming that has occurred. We are only able to explain that using anthropocentric sources. Even if we add in the cooling effect of different sources (like clouding through air pollution) the effect stays the same.

And no, the Sun does not shrink. Period. All things keeping equal, we won't need any extra greenhouse gasses for at least the next few million years, so wouldn't worry too much about that.

To respond to the OP, a Scientific American article a couple months ago suggested that global warming actually started with the start of agriculture. Ice cores can trace global temperatures back thousands of years through multiple ice ages. There used to be a pretty clear cycle, but right about at the start of worldwide agriculture and irrigation where greater areas were used for plants, we were due for another ice age.

Thus, scientists 30 years ago (when ice cores and other data like tree rings started to come together) were crying that that an ice age will come soon. However, it looks like we've actually been warming the planet for longer than we thought just through agriculture, and industrialization is only making the problem worse.

Will it destroy the Earth? Probably not -- at least not in the near future. However, there's certainly enough evidence to make us at least BEGIN to try to take care of the planet we live on!

I don't have sources or specific examples right now, but I believe there is a lot of ecological evidence of climate change.

You know...birds are migrating south later in the year and back north sooner the next year.

Again, I don't have sources or specific examples right now. But I think you know what I am talking about.

Maybe somebody else can elaborate.

earths climate is very sedate at the moment we are inbetween ice ages (the last 10,000 years ago) and we are in a calm patch which may be part of the reason we have advanced so quickly. The Ice caps are ment to melt this is the first time both caps have been iced over (when out of ice age) and it is natural for the glaciers and ice caps to melt. The lack of o zone is partly due to CFCs etc but also due to the decreases magnetic field, the temperature avergae is going up but the temperature of the earth fluctuates alot and it is not yet known if this is "normal"
Increased storms etc are nothing to worry about as the weather cycles through patches of stormy and calmer.
