Hello fellow followers of Jesus. I am so glad to have found this site. I am 58 now and had a serious neck injury that has ended my active working life but not my spiritual life. I am happy to talk to other believers in the faith and especially those with chronic pain problems. It is only my faith these last few years that has kept me going. I have been caring full time for my 99 year old mother these last 15 years, now in a nursing home and bed bound. But every day I stay with her from 10.30am until 10.30 pm as my small witness to Our lord. I offer this up as my simple spiritual practice to Our Lord even though my health is failing. I must warn everyone that my neck damage was caused by a severe over-manipulation of my neck by a negligent osteopath and please never let anyone manipulate your neck. My life has been destroyed but as a follower of Our Lord I naturally forgave him. And I deepen my gratitude to Our lord that he gave us the spiritual and safe way to act in this world even when hurt by others.
Anyway hope to hear from others may the grace of Our Lord be with us all until we are called home to be with him, christopher, Australia

Welcome to the forums, Christopher--as you have strength to participate. Looking back, my neck problems probably began with a couple of skiing accidents in New Hampshire (US) when I was a kid, but did not begin in earnest until about 14 years ago, though congenital and aging factors may also contribute. I've been going through a relatively stable period the last several months, which is helpful. For some years past, going to church has been both a joy and quite stressful physically (I need to lie down periodically during the day most days)--but I mention this as a kind of health benchmark. I'm 56. Not the same as you, but perhaps you can relate better than most. Staying with your Mom 12 hours a day must be draining, but a good thing.
