  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This was in my blog but I would like to have this topic open for talking.

I have been asking God for some time now what it is that causes the prayers of those who turn to Him to seem to fall of deaf ears. The answer I got yesterday was one that strikes me to the core and has caused me to surender to His call on myself.

In proverbs the scripture said that if you withold your hand from the needy God will withold from you. What a statment!!! I see now that many christians (including myself) are not getting the powerful answers they seek because they are not being faithful with what they have. They are not activly giving what they have.

I am not talking about tithe or money, I am talking about service to God and man. God convicted me yesterday about feeding the flock. It is the gift He gave me to use and I have not. Some have a gift to minister in physical ways such as food or shelter. Others have gifts to minister in other ways. But the truth is many times we do not really give it our all and then when we pray Gods answer to us is "Why should I give to you when you withold from others?"

May God forgive us and may we turn to Him for our help to give as we have been given, freely we have been given...freely we should give.

What makes us not give? For some like myself it is the feeling of not being able. But it is God who is able. For others it is judgment. They judge the homeless for not having jobs rather than having compassion.

There are many reasons. But one thing I find is that if we want to have all God has given us...we should give others as well.

God has given me the gift of poetry and uses me in this way to bless those in need. the poems are very intense and can be quite emotional , they are heartfelt words of encouragement from God. Holy Spirit inspired these poems speak to people, where as maybe they would not listen to our words they are encouraged and strengthened. I thank God for using me in this way. PRAISE YOU LORD.

WoW thank you for sharing. I've never thought of that before (that the lord would use poems) but it surely seems like god would do that (meaning I'm not ciriticising). I'm always happy if I hear about a new ways god reaches people (new like in I have never heard of that before). Our god is awesome :)
May god bless you

Thank you for this and I am interested in reading about this.

I have been a bit troubled by this when I run across a blurb about God desiring us to be giving of who we are.

For me not giving has been time and not putting what needs to be first first.
