For some reason as I was reading my Bible tonight (this morning actually....look at the time. lol) and brushing up on some old scriptures, the last few verses of Matthew stuck out like a sore thumb to me. Amongst them the one scripture in particular that I read over and over was "Give to them ask of you and from whom would borrow of you turn not away". As I meditated on it for a few minutes it all began to unfold: It's God's natural nature to give to those who ask of Him and He'll never turn away anyone who comes to Him in need. We therefore, being His children and called to demonstrate His character through us, ought to do the same in our every day lives. With us being on the same "team" as God it would be very unfit for us to act contrary to Him being that we're His children. When we give with a joyful heart then we're showing God's nature in us and not only will we be showing the world what God is really like but we'll also receive deeper insight and understanding about how kind our Father truly is. The same thing applies with loving our enemies and just ating completely contrary to what would be normally expected of us as humans and our natural reactions. When bearing this in mind then the way the chapter is ended (be ye therefore perfect even as your Father is perfect) makes perfect sense: Be loving, kind and generous just like your Father is. That just really boggled me and I wanted to share it with you all.
