  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ephesians 1:15-23~
15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Hi Charis,

Do you believe this comment he made on the blog "NT prophets primarily evoke, or awaken, a Christ-consciousness in believers (Heb. 10:1-10), not awareness of future events.?

...or this one "In the new covenant era, being prophetic is for everyone (Joel 2, Acts 3, Num. 11), not just a few gifted specialists".

I did like this one very much "Prophets are sent to a church to elicit obedience and conformity to divine Truth, not to bless people by telling them how wonderful they are, how rich they’re going to be, and how they’re going change the world."A good and useful clue to help discern if they are false prophets. Telling people that all is well, when it isn't are very common false prophet utterances. But the flip side is exclusively preaching the wrath of God.

Ever read the "Elijah Task" by John Sanford . He is a prophet who was a close personal friend of Agnes Sanford (but no relation to her)

Hi Charis,

I don't believe the author was speaking in new-age terms, but
is saying that under the New Covenant the primary function of
prophecy is to unveil the resurrected Jesus to others. The
anointing includes an enabling of the hearers to comprehend
this 'unveiling'. Rev. 19:10 says 'the testimony of Jesus is the
spirit of prophecy'. Awareness of future events happens, but is
not the primary function.
...or this one "In the new covenant era, being prophetic is for everyone (Joel 2, Acts 3, Num. 11), not just a few gifted specialists".
I understand him to be saying that under the New Covenant Jesus
is the primary criteria and substance for prophecy... and in Him 'one
new man' is created. No longer do we only hear the word of God
from a chosen few, but the Spirit (of God) speaks personally to people.

Ever read the "Elijah Task" by John Sanford . He is a prophet who was a close personal friend of Agnes Sanford (but no relation to her)
I haven't read his material...
