• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello everyone... yeserday my "dad" came over to do repairs on the house as the court order says, and he went off and harrassed my mother, and hurt her, and I got really scared and called the police couldn't say much was practically petrified then called Jeff (my mom's bf/soon to be step-dad), and then the police called me back asking for address, how old I was, info about my dad and his car, and then they came here. BUT it took nearly 20 minutes for them to arrive by that time my dad was gone and now he's being a pooface about my little sister and holidays and no on know's what is going ot happen because he threatened to kill my mother tonight.

parents been divorced about 10 years...

Ok my mother was able to get a PPO agaisnt him but the kids (my siblings) still had to go with him for the holiday break. I know he hurt my sister... all by the way she was acting when I saw her on thanksgiving and her conversations and text messages. I don't have proof but I don't need it to know this much. I've but hurt by him too... I know what its like. She'll be home tomorrow night and I'm going to talk with her and see if she will tell me exactly what is going on. I've been scared... I don't like knowing he is hurting her and as of right now there is nothing I can do about it. If I can get her to talk about it then I can but I'm not sure she'll talk cuz she's scared he'll hurt her more if she does.

My heart goes out to you! :groupray:That is scary stuff! I remember the insanity of living under those kinds of conditions in my family and the toll it took on all of our lives.:cry: Please keep us posted on things and I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers... your Dad as well! :prayer:

My dad sent my older sis, my brother and I an e-mail about everything going on like we have no idea what's going on, and said a bunch of complete bullsh*t, and I replied back pointing out all of his lies and bullsh*t about everything. I would definitely keep the police informed of his actions.
They need to know if he starts in again.
Don't take any chances.
