I guess I need to find a better sling, because I really need to spring clean this house, but it has been pretty hard with my 6 month old daughter. She will be crawling soon, and I want to make sure everything is babyproofed, sanitized, and organized. But she is a momma's girl right now and wants me to hold her all day. I don't mind and don't like the cry it out method, I just wish I could get more done around the house.

I think that's one of the hardest things with a baby- getting things done. I used a wrap, but was afraid I was going to get things on them when cleaning or cooking. Bouncers can help for a while; but if they want to be held....it's super hard. Cry it out for infants is cruel. Honestly, I just let things be messy for awhile and held babies if they wanted to be held. No regrets. It will pass and you will be able to get things done.

you'll never regret time spent with your child
have a hand towel hung up that says "a clean house is a sign of a wasted life"

husband didn't want our child to have a sandbox as he didn't want sand tracked in.....he has learned to live with "relaxed" standards since we became parents

we still have marker marks on carpet that have never come out

enjoy your little one; they grow up so fast!

Markers on carpets - lol! Yes, my youngest drew a complete roadway system on his carpeted floor with Sharpies. At age 12. He has ADHD, and he didn't think that one through. The look on his face when I told him it was never going to come out was priceless. I didn't even need to discipline him for it. For someone who is getting particular about how his room looks, well, having that carpet to look at every day is consequence enough.

Disclaimer: our carpet needed replacing years ago, and we've yet to do it, so I wasn't too upset to have one more reason to convince my husband we need new carpet. If it had been new carpet, I'm quite sure I'd have reacted differently.

Yeh, I don't regret any time spent with my little girl. I just started cleaning a little at night when she is asleep and my hubby goes to work. Amazing how a little here and there helps...

The more dependent they are when they are young the more independent they are when they are older. So you have to decide how independent you eventually want them to be.

Personally I've found that you have to make time for it. It's hard to make memories or relax in a house that is cluttered, disorganized and messy. You struggle to find things and have space to live. And if you're always doing the bare minimum of upkeep in order to function, it's really inefficient and more time ends up spent on it.

I really like the philosophy that cleaning can wait. I really do. It just didn't work for me. Waiting makes things worse and the tasks pile up and become more overwhelming. Perhaps people with an innate sense of organization can handle it differently. I do resent how much time is spent on cleaning, cooking and upkeep. But if I don't keep ahead of it, even more time gets spent on it.
