• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Umm...I have recently decided to stop smoking(cigs and weed). Now, this may sound stupid but I still have some stuff, and I don't know how to get rid of it. Should I give it to my friends or what? What would be a safe way to dispose of it.:help:

I would say the same thing. Flush it.
When I finally was able to get over my addiction to my pain meds and quit taking them, I took them to the local DEA office and asked them if they could destroy them.
I had at least a dozen bottles of morphine, oxycontin, vicodin, and other stuff that I didn't want my son to get into. I felt this was the best way.

Don't give it to your friends, because then you can still use it if you want, plus they might smoke infront of you, or around you, and then you will want to do it. Get rid of it, and don't let anyone have it, it is for your protection from yourself, if you give it to someone else, chances are you will be smoking it by the end of the night, that's from experiance.
