When did yoiu take your little one to get their first pics? I'm thinking I want to take Grace this coming weekend when she turns 4 weeks but keep thinking now how can I schedule this so she won't be needing to eat. I'm so funny when it comes to taking her out & about still. We ahve only been to the doc office so far partly due to me recovering.

In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have never been big on taking my babies to get their picture done at a professional place. At least not after doing it a few times and enduring meltdowns and pictures with red noses & eyes.

What I do instead is to take a picture at each month of age and then keep them in a little personal sized photo album. So each of my children has a "picture book" of photos at 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, etc. all the way up to 24 months old. It's so much fun to lay them all out and compare who looked like what at, say, 4 months old! (Which is what we did the other day with Abel's book and everybody elses').

I only got professional pics done with my first and she was 6 weeks old at the time. With my other two I just took the photos myself and personally I think the ones I took came out better

A lot of professional photographers (assuming you're not talking about taking her to a mall photo place) schedule extra time for newborns so that you've got time for feeding and changing breaks.

I take Breanna at Christmas time and on her Birthday, so it comes out being every 6 months. (The Christmas ones are el-cheapo's, don't think I'm made of money or anything..LOL!) The first time I took her was her first Christmas, so she was right under 6 months old and did very well! I don't know how a 4-week-old would react, I was barely ready to get out in public at that point! =P

I know I'm thinking not sure if it's a good idea or not either to take her yet. I scheduled a appointment but may wait. It is at a studio in the mall. We'll see what happens I guess.
