  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

-Surround yourself with family and friends who will uplift and encourage you.
-Keep yourself BUSY!
-Acknowledge your emotions, if you repress them it will take longer to heal
-Let your hope be completely in Christ again (if you've misplaced it) humans will let eachother down and dissapoint one another
-Talk/cry to God if you need to, He will comfort you if you ask
-Spoil/pamper yourself, spend a day at the spa, eat ice cream

I hope you feel better! Broken hearts are THE WORST. :( But on a positive note, if you can get through it you know you can get through anything. God Bless you.

LifeInYou gave you some really good tips :) I will add a few, as I've been down this road, and I know it's not easy.

1. Acknowledge that it is completely okay for you to be upset or to cry over this. Letting out your emotions is sometimes the best thing you can do.

2. Gather up every thing that reminds you of him and box it up. Put the box in a place where you won't be tempted to open it up constantly. You may want to give it to a friend or put it in storage, or wrap it up really tightly so it'll be a pain to open. In 6 months, take down the box, go through it, and decide what you want to keep, what you want to throw away, and what you want to give to others. It's a lot easier to get on with your life without constant reminders of him.

3. Take up a new hobby, or go out and do new things. Take a class at the local community college. Find a sport you've always wanted to learn, and learn it. Etc.

4. Realize that you will not feel better right away. Sometimes it takes months or even years to heal. But don't forget - it will get better, and although it may seem painfully slow, every day you are healing just a little bit more.

5. Keep a diary - putting my feelings down on paper really helped me, and then I could look back and see how far I came.

6. Pray daily and ask for God to strengthen your heart

 Hope this is of some help to you

I def. agree with the two ladies above. My heart goes out to you. I think one of the most important things to remember is that with matters of the heart, no matter how they end up, fairytale or not, we learn and grow from them. Allow yourself to heal... and though you may always have a special place in your heart for this guy, life goes on and with time, so do you. :) I wish you the very best.

To me, I personally feel better communicating with God Himself rather than friends or family. Write a letter to God if needed, and just spill your guts out.

1.) Keep yourself BUSY with things you've been wanting to do but couldn't w/a sig other.
2.) Hang out with family and friends.
3.) Gain knowledge in something you're interested in.
4.) Give yourself some "you" time.

GOOD LUCK~

What helped me the most was talking about it. Most of my friends got REALLY sick of hearing about my ex after i repeated myself over and over and over for the course of about 4 months! But it always made me feel a lot better to get things off my chest and know somone was willing to listen. Spending time with those who love me helped a ton too. Praying uncontroably, even yelling at God, just spending time with him alone was so helpful. One thing I'm huge on that some will disagree with is silent self reflection all by yourself. It helped me a lot to rationalise everything and just "figgure stuff out" by myslef. I'm going to be praying for you. If your anything like I was your in more pain than I would ever want anyone to go through. Bless you sister. Stay close to Christ.
