  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

qUOTE FROM POSTER A FEW TIMES BACK" I have a "spookish" mare that sent me flying about 2 months ago. I haven't been on her back since then, and haven't been able to link up with my one hope...my trainer. I keep ground working her, and do see some improvement. With time I think I'll ride her again, under the supervision of someone who knows what they're doing! "

The LONGER THE WAIT, the less chance she will behaviour herself!, have you got someone around like a friend to hold her head while you mount and lead her around just to make sure she won't do anything silly, sometimes a little tiny pull on the inside rein will remind them NO FUNNY BUSINESS!.

ITS HARD TO GET BACK ON A HORSE THAT SPOOKY, I DIDN'T GET BACK ON WORRIE BECAUSE HE WAS NOT SUITABLE FOR MY PERSONALITY.

This horse is one of a kind. I have been doing a lot of Parelli with her and making huge progress. I could've mounted her Saturday...she was so relaxed. I just didn't feel ready. I probably will have my farrier hold her...she wants to come work Sierra and Lacey anyway...just for kicks. ;)

this is why my parents never took me to riding schools.I learned on our own horses because stable horses can sometimes set us up for fear.im so sorry this has set you back a bit.i do have a nutters of a welsh pony that bucks me oh,monthly but its made me a better, more aware rider. we keep him because we love him and he's old and ornery. we have other horses i dont have issues with but a few buddies of mine do train at stables...they always have a complaint or scare story :(

i wish i could afford a horse, i can, but my parents won't let me use the money for a horse. all excuses plus more, that why they put me in a riding school. i have ridden two really good horses, Eve, a bay t/b at Balmoral Equestrian centre, she was only a 4year old ex race horse. she was extremely quiet, to get her to canter nicely, you had to slide your hand to the buckle.

My favourite though was a horse named Kujoe, he was Appaloosa x Andalusisan gelding. he spooked at jumps with other riders, but he didn't with me. i rode him at The Saddle Club of Melbourne. i left there, because one of the staff had given me a horse that wouldn't let me canter. the horse had no problem cantering! he did speed into canter in a very forward trot
