  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

on Sunday. I'm so excited about this! It's a trade...this gal is taking Sierra (who was way beyond my capabilities and time) and I'm getting her yearling Paint filly. This filly has excellent bloodlines, and I'm really hoping to get a speed horse out of her. She is gorgeous! For those of you who know Paints, she's a sorrel tobiano. Has Sonny Dee Bar in her pedigree. More close up her grandsire was an excellent gamer. So she could go either way.

Anyway...had to share! :D

Bad luck struck on Thursday night. This filly injured her leg quite badly, so I don't have her yet, much less know if I'm EVER going to get her. I'm plain disgusted, but such is life.

Tamara...looking for that sorrel? lol...Sierra is exactly like that. Sorrel with a blaze, flaxen mane and tail, socks on diaganols, coronet bands on diaganols. She's spectacular!

AWE...I am sorry to hear about that...be careful about getting a horse with an injury. YOu know...God understands and ask him for the right timing as well as the right horse...it will happen! Sounds like the one I want! :)

We have 2 donkeys....tonight Misty was limping, and I was so stressed, I walked over to her trying to figure out what happened..I looked at her hoof, I am not sure how she managed this, but she stepped into a black circle of plastic....that fit her hook perfectly. We got it off, but she was hobbling along on it....I'm so concerned for her, I prayed for her, We don't ride them, but still I want her happy!

Don't be to discouraged....ok? :) Tamara

The filly is permanently injured. She'll never be ridable. Evidently she had her original injury at 2-3 months. As far as Sierra, I've pretty well decided to keep her and use her as a broodmare. She should throw color (came from sorrel overos), and have good conformation. So...if ya'll are foal shopping in 2007 keep me in mind. ;)

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone.

I'm disgusted, but happy that I found this out before I got her home. The last thing I need is another unridable horse.

On the upside, I've been having some incredible rides lately on my Appy. I found out she "Indian Shuffles", which took some getting used to, but it's her preferred mode of travel. I've been training her quite hard, adding on miles and getting her ready for our first limited distance endurance ride. Don't know if that'll be this year anymore, but we'll see what happens.

The Indian Shuffle is a 4 beat gait, not quite as pronounced a ASB or TWH's rack, but similar. It feels like they're just lifting up their feet, and it gives the rider a side to side motion, rather then up and down. You cannot post to it...believe me, I tried until I figured out that it was comfortable to sit it!
