Today God showed me that I really need to spend time with Him. He showed me that until I start spending regular, every day time with Him, my life is going to be far more askew than it needs to be. Being in His presence, whether that is in prayer or studying His word, or however God directs you, is the universal balm for every mental and emotional problem we have. Being in His presence fills us with peace, allowing us to reconnect with the Lord and cast all of our cares upon Him. It helps us to see our sin and to confess it all to Him. Is there a longing in your heart for purity, for righteousness in your walk with Him? The living water of Jesus will slake your thirsting, but to drink we must visit the fountain.

I am confessing my prayerlessness and lack of regular study in the word, please pray for me that I may be healed of this. Anyone who agrees with this and/or feels a conviction about it, post here and let us all pray for eachother to be healed of any backsliding and to spend more time with our Heavenly Father.

My first reaction is that you have forgotten that you are a child of God by his grace. Paul was told "my grace is sufficient for you". Don't beat yourself up for not spending time in prayer or in God's word, for "we are not under law but under grace". If the Holy Spirit is prompting you to spend more time in prayer or in God's word then by all means do so, but don't look back at what you haven't done. God wants you to be joyful, not guilty.

I spend a lot of time reading the Bible, and I mean a LOT. I do so because that's the way God made me; I've been that way for many, many years.

I don't pray very much as I'm by nature an introvert but when I do pray it's usually to tell God that I truly enjoy his love and grace. I rarely ask God to do anything, as I'm his servant and servants don't tell their master what they want him to do.

That's my relationship with God, in Christ. He didn't make us all the same for a reason, so your part in his kingdom is different than mine, but we are loved equally, despite our shortcomings.

Please rejoice in the way God made you and don't put undue pressure on yourself. If you have a joyful prompting from the Holy Spirit then go for it, but don't apply pressure on yourself out of guilt. That is not what God wants! He loves you -- simply because you're his child.

I agree with what you've said here, because there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. God doesn't want us to be guilty (worldly sorrow), but there is a godly sorrow that leads to repentance. I know I am His child, but sometimes like every good Father, He has to bring correction and discipline. That's what I feel from Him right now; His kind correction. I am asking people to pray for me because I recognize that I am struggling to do what I know I need to. I appreciate what you've said though, and that is something else the Lord is trying to speak to me..to get me to stop being so hard on myself.

I find Praise and worship music while cooking and cleaning helps to free up even more time for the Lord. Humming those songs walking down the street.

Maybe that might help?

"Singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord" (Ephesians 5.19). :)
