  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm not one to dog other nations' military, but I'm having a problem dealing with the Georgian Army down here in Al-Kut and Badrah. Allot of these Georgians work the checkpoints and are shaking down not only Iraqis, but Iranians also who pass through. Either they use all the minutes of their cellphones then give it back to the Iraqis, or they steal all the personal belongings the civilian has on them. Also, the Georgians were telling the Iraqis that if they brought them food, they'd give them free JP8.

Another thing: these guys are thugs. They beat up an Iraqi vendor on base. We had a small PX before, but they broke in and looted it, so they shut it down for a year. When they re-opened, they now have the El Salvadorians guarding the place with loaded M4s, just in case these guys get out of line. One time, a Georgian soldier locked and loaded on one of the line servers in the chow hall, cause he wouldn't give him more food. Now, the Ugandans are at the chowhall entrance and inside making sure the Georgians behave.

Awww..I'm just wondering if anyone has this experience with these guys. Also, they are horrible drivers and are not gonna slow down for anyone on base. One of these days, someone is gonna get hurt by them. Another case is that a Georgian walked into a female tent and took an IBA and walked right out with it.

Ugh, I can't stand those guys. Sex in the showers, stealing from the PX, hoarding food at the dfac, and they stink to high heaven! There weren't very many of them when I was doing supply runs to Al-Kut and Babylon in '04, but it seems that they've increased their presence there. I was stationed at Camp Virginia, Kuwait on this last deployment and we had a huge surge of them pass through in January. We had all of the problems with them that I mentioned above. We too had to set up guards at the PX and dfac. We also enforced a very strict battle-buddy policy. The way they'd look at our females was just.... not right.

Wow, All I have to deal with are Ugandians and the Romanians, which are both squared away and cool guys.

While I like the Ugandians, when I was at Balad it was unbearable when they were in the gym. Couldn't do bench with one right next to you, cause when they raised their arms damn near drop the weights on yourself cause of the stench. But those guys are cool, and they're loving life in Iraq.

Don't know too much about the Romanians, but I've worked with the Polish and I can see where they get the dumb jokes from about the Polish.

I went on a mission last Monday and they were here. I come back last Saturday and the post is a ghost town. What I did find out is that the Georgian Brigade that was gonna replace the guys that were leaving was wiped out with the exception of 60 during a Russian Air attack.
