Geocaching?

Has anyone else done this? I went for the first time with my fiance, his mom, sister and brother-in-law a few weeks ago in Ohio and had a blast. It's like "treasure hunting" with GPS. Lots of hiking and some serious bug bites but really fun.

I've done it a bit. It can be pretty fun. My brother-in-law and my niece and nephew go geocaching from time to time and when they are on vacation they usually do it along the route to where they are going, which has the interesting benefit of catching bits of local history and attractions that might otherwise be missed on a road trip.

geocaching is awesome!!

We are big into geocaching up where I am. We've even started a few caches ourself. One fun thing to do is to find some of those really small new testament bibles and leave one behind in each cache you visit. It's a great way to evangelise, and pretty soon it'll get the other local geocachers talking about it < grin > which presents you with the open door you might need

My wife and I really like geocaching. It's a great way to break up long road trips. I really enjoy urban geocaching. Ultra-micro, well camoflauged caches with lots of muggles about are fun. Some can be really hard.

Its a great family activity. When my wife and I tell our kids that we are going, my 2 year old starts to run around the house screaming "treasure treasure". We put an ammo box together to create one ourselves, now we just have to find a good place to hide it.

I love geocaching..I have found such great hiking areas and parks that I would never have found otherwise. I'm Boo29R there if anyone wants to say hi or cache when you're in my area.

I'm in northeast Pennsylvaniaand I geocache with a Garmin Etrex Legend. It's an in between model that has worked great for me for a few years now.
