Then why are countries with large populations of uneducated people the most religious? the parts of the US where education standards are bad are the most religious, low education standards means high religious belief, which has been true all down the ages, religions were at their peak when the world was uneducated.

You need to understand that for me academia is the heaven the Spirit has lured me to. I am not sure what you mean by gnosticism. It simply means knower. In early Christianity, it meant that the Kingdom of God is within us, something now. It also meant that to be saved was to follow Christ into an immaterial realm,outside the universe. It also meant that we have a direct immediate connection to God and therefore do not need the priesthood as intercessors. It also meant a number of other things as well. Some of these things I agree with, some not.



Now, I sense you are working out of a kind of TULIP concept of salvation. Right? If so, OK,fine. However, not all Christians agree with the TULIP approach. I frankly do not agree with a bit of it.



I believe that God loves everyone, not just the elect. I believe God saves everyone, not just the elect. In fact, for those who hold with the concept of election, I point out that this denotes only a tiny minority of persons. Calvin said the elect were so few in number that they may never meet up with one another. So, if you hold with election, changes are you are really really one of the reprobate. Further, I believe God as truly a God of love does not coerce people by threats of horrendous punishments, hell, damnation, etc. I reject the the TULIP emphasis that only bible-believing Christians are saved. I feel that is just another form of Christian Imperialism. For God, it is far more important how you live than any doctrines you hold. When critics academics or view it as unimportant, I point out that , ironically, the TULIP approach that went overboard on scholasticism, so that faith collapsed into simply intellectual ascent to doctrine. It really doesn't matter how you live, just what doctrines you believe .



I believe salvation and sanctification are one. The journey itself means as much as the final destination. God is the Cosmic Artist continually luring us to greater forms of beauty and that means greater depth and breadth of feeling. There is no relationship to God that cannot be deepened. I ask you this: What do you think will happen when you come before the throne of God and he asks you if you have any interesting snapshots to show?

Actually, I don't consider myself "religious" -- as I define "religion" as any belief that goes against the Bible.

Just as weight occurs when gravity is resisted, religion occurs when the Bible is resisted.

Ed, Ted and Ned are having a conversation. Ed said that he saw a panther in the woods. Ted believes his friend because Ed has no reason to make up such a story. Some people think that because they themselves have never seen anything supernatural that it must not exist. Claiming that an ax head can't float doesn't make you smarter than someone who believes the Scriptures. EVERYONE knows that an ax head can't float. Some, however, realize that God is Lord of the impossible; that He wouldn't list 333 miracles in His book if he didn't want us to know that He could do the impossible as He willed. We're only the gullible ones if it's all a lie. However, part of being saved is receiving the Holy Spirit. It's hard to tell a person who has a personal communication with God that God doesn't exist. We know better. It's sad for some that they do not.

It must be even harder to tell a person that was abducted by aliens that they are telling lies, when you start believing the impossible you have got troubles, when was the last time you talked to god?
Anyway if that's what you want to believe then go for it just please don't try to tell others that what you see everyone should be able to see. your delusions are not transferable.

But that is merely a statement from ignorance of your own. You seem to have the typical Christian belief that only your interpretation of the Bible is correct. That sort of thought is what has led to on the order of 40,000 different sects of Christianity. Most of the differences are rather small and inconsequential, but when they are all added up it can make a huge difference, which is why you will see so many Christians claim that others are not "real Christians".

You gave us your opinion, do you have anything that supports it? So far all I have seen you give is your opinion. I am not impressed.
