According to most YEC theories, the reason for the abundance of 'varieties' we see today is the result of 'microevolution' or natural selection at work. For example, a pair of Dog 'kind' on the ark could conceivably result in all the domesticated breeds, wolves, coyotes, dingos and so forth.
Also according to most YEC timelines, the flood occurred approximately 1600 years after the Fall. We are presently about 4400 years after the flood.
So why didn't this accelerated "microevolution" happen in the 1600 years before the flood? Did it only happen after the flood? Are you saying that prior to the flood, there was little or no natural selection so that an obvious pair of an obvious dog kind could be selected?
