This is some of symptoms of generational curses:

The man's wife becoming increasingly lonely and angry as the husband is apparently continually “out with the boys”.

The wife and children open to spiritual attack, and nightmares.

The wife can have feelings of insecurity and creepiness while her husband is at the Lodge meeting.

Alienation within the family.

Children disobedient and hard to control.

Restlessness, mental confusion.

Covert sexual deviancy and frigidity.

Mistrust and lack of compassion.

Physical ailments especially in the three main areas connected to the oaths made, which open a man and his family up to demonic influence i.e. Throat cutting - pulmonary area; chest ripping - cardio-vascular area; stomach slitting - bowels and related organs.

fear (of dark, of the unexpected, noises, people, irrational fear)

all kinds of lung and heart diseases such as asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, angina or other lung related problems, heart problems

suicidal tendencies

bulimia or anorexia

cancer (of the stomach, liver, bone cancer, cancer of the skin, breast cancer, throat cancer and other forms of cancer are attributed to the curse)

autism

all kinds of sexual perversions

allergies, hay fever

extreme anger (especially towards God), rebellion

gall bladder problems, liver problems

womb problems, bareness

emotional problems (emotionally unbalanced, depression etc)

unbelief towards the Word of God, skepticism

doubting God and His Word

doubting other people’s sincerity

appropriation to false teachings

divorce

revenge, especially when hurt by someone

retaliation, especially when hurt by someone

unforgiveness

Schizophrenia and other mental diseases

Poltergeist phenomena

The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation...Num 14:18.

Is this the generational curse being discussed in this thread, or is there another?

If it is, then why would God punish me for what my grandfather did?

Well, it would be better to ask that question to those people who have suffered from such, and if HE said: "visiting the inquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation", and if you beg HIM to pardon that iniquity, then why the concern? A simple prayer to end the curse, and problems!

Gosh you are good at reading into posts things that were never said.

Jesus freed us from all of it by the cross, period!

The good news is that we deal with the effects of our own sin, and arent getting it in the neck because of what other people have done

I guess its easier to consider that our problem is the result of someone elses sin, than putting in some good hard work to deal with the problem and move on

Gosh, you repeat stuff from posts that have already said that!

Jesus freed us by the cross! That's a no-brainer.

The good news is that we have a way to be free from the problems that come as a result of demonic attachments of our forebears! Amen!

Those people in our recent past--fathers, mothers, grandparents may never have committed any sin that brings these effects, but they may have had PROBLEMS associated by the demonic BEFORE THEM!

Reject the fact these things exist if you wish. It doesn't negate the fact that they do.

God doesnt punish what Jesus paid for..Jesus paid the price for ALL our sin.past present and future..

Sure did. Those who know who they are in Christ will walk accordingly, those who don't, will live life as if cursed, because they are not choosing to walk in the freedom that is already theirs through faith. Been there, done that...bought the T-shirt.

Thank you Doveaman for highlighting the issue so we can once again clarify what a generational curse is and show that a later scriptural command from God states that no child will be held accountable for the sin of an ancestor.

Generational curses cannot touch a Christian, but such things as genetics, lifestyle and relationship issues can cause emotional damage, illness, sin, unforgiveness etc. to mar our lives.

That is not a curse travelling down generations, it's a cause/effect everyday life matter.

Jeremiah 31
29 In those days people will no longer say, 'The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge.'

30Instead, everyone will die for his own sin; whoever eats sour grapes— his own teeth will be set on edge.

Ezekiel 18

1 The word of the LORD came to me:
2 What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel:
'The fathers eat sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge'?

3As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel.

4 For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son— both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die.

In those days says God to Jeremiah...which days? The days of the New Covenant - TODAY!

(In fact, it looks like Ezekiel was saying the time was already come even under the Old Covenent doesn't it?)

Yes it is!

Too bad people ignore it, thinking they are automatically free upon salvation, when they need to be taught how to appropriate their freedom.

What do you think discipling is all about?

There are demoniacs and drug addicts, homosexuals and people bound up in the occult and in bondage due to childhood sexual abuse and rejection--scarred people who are not immediately freed upon salvation. Salvation is the first step on the road to freedom!

Face reality.

That is exactly what we are referring to as a generational curse. We agree, but the terminology offends you.

Sorry I just could not stop myself from posting. I don't call it generational curse I call it growing in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord. Spiritual maturity. What you are implying FA whether you realize it or not is that Christs sacrifice was not sufficient, if as you say it is just the first step. Isn't this what the judaizers taught and Paul wrote about in Galations. If we are not free at salvation there is nothing more that can be done to free us.
We may not be walking in freedom but that is different. Are there different levels of spirituality in your church. I don't get any more saved as I grow in the Lord. I just get wiser and more understanding of the GRACE in which I stand. gg

No, I know the blood of Jesus is more than sufficient. Salvation is ours, amen! It is also the point at which we become children of God. Babies! Sometimes we are sick babies!

We have EVERYTHING we need in Christ for healing and wholeness and freedom. Do we POSSESS it? Nope. We need INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS. We need, like Lazarus needed: people of God to UNWRAP US FROM OUR STINKING SHROUDS!

Grown up faith realizes this and teaches it--and instructs these truths.

Sanctification isn't getting more saved. It's getting more free and more like Jesus and powerful in our walk.
