General question: The State of Israel and its relationship with Christian Communities.

When I was doing an internship at the World Zionist Organization in Jerusalem I was told that there was a specific denomination which donated millions to our projects. I even asked why they would do such a thing but they basically told me: "don't ask, we need the funding".

Now as a Christian my question is a little different:
why do some Christians feel a strong connection with the secular state of Israel? If it is only related to biblical places then one can also include support for Egypt.
Moreover, is there a specific group that is more into funding Israeli projects and why?

One a side note;
The modern term "Jew/s" did not exist in biblical times. Neither was there the concept of "Judaism" as we know it today.
The reason to support the secular state of Israel because of "Jews" as the chosen people is rather strange in my opinion.

Because a lot of Christians don't understand scripture. I mean, that's the best way I can sum it up lol. They take the verse:

"The nation is like a mighty lion;
When it is sleeping, no one dares wake it.
Whoever blesses Israel will be blessed,
And whoever curses Israel will be cursed.” - Numbers 24:9

And think that means to blindly give to Israel no matter what. We are supposed to help aid in bringing Israel back in alignment with God, that is our mission. But just throwing money at them isn't going to aid them in the long run. "Blessing" Israel doesn't always mean just throwing them cash, you can bless them with the gospel (Galatians 3:9, Galatians 3:14) or wisdom, or personal help, or as a profession in let's say being a doctor or nurse and helping the injured. But I think it would be wrong as a follower of Christ to give to an institution that practices Judaism and ignores Christ. That's aiding in the wrong direction and I highly doubt the Father is going to bless that endeavor.

We support Israel as its existance is prophecy fulfilled.
We support Israel as it was promised to Abraham and his descendants by God Himself.
We support Jews as they are still God's chosen people and the Lord was born into their race.
We support Jews as God Almighty / El Shaddai does not change His mind as to whom He chooses and blesses.
We support Jews as it is prophesied in God's Word that the day will come when they finally accept the Messiah their forefathers rejected. Amen and may it happen soon!

Dispensationalists have an entire eschatology focused on the nation of Israel. In their view Israel needs to rebuild the temple, and restart up sacrifices and offerings, so that the antichrist can come and seat himself in the temple and stop sacrifices and offerings. In their view this leads to the 2nd coming

I think their eschatology is wrong but I do agree with supporting the nation partners that choose to make alliances with the US and promote something other than communism and Islam.

And of course I like the idea of offering some sort of evangelism to Israel

You ask a good question.
There are two reasons I support the State of Israel. The first reason is because I read Gods plan for Israel in the Bible. I'm rooting for them because I know one day they will have no allies and will have only God to lean on. Then Gods going to destroy those nations that rise against Israel. With this in mind, I support them. The second reason is because Gods divine providence allowed them to become a nation again in 1948. I don't want to go into the political reasons other than to say they have a right to defend themselves and the proxy war and attacks they have coming from the groups in the occupied palestinine territories have made it impossible for them to peacefully coexist.
