Yep....we all have sinned and fall short......................Rom 3:28Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Wait a minute... I want to explore the doctrine of faith because the law will condemn me for sure.

The Law will condemn you whether you have faith or not. Do you think your faith alone will save you?

James 2:14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?

James 2:24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

When we come to Jesus for the first time He cleanses us (justifies) and makes us right (righteous) before God. But that's just the doorway. You have a whole life ahead of you to grow and make right choices based on God's will. Otherwise, your faith is dead.

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

So you might as well open that bottle of rum with Captain Jack Sparrow and enjoy your tropical island paradise.

All of our sins of the heart can be overcome through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. When temptation comes and we begin to think upon these things things, the Holy Spirit convicts us so that we may pray for deliverance from them...

For me, asking for the help to overcome is the easy part... discerning the Spirits conviction is what is the most difficult for me but as I pray for it, the Lord is faithful.

Interestingly enough, God told Solomon that his Father David kept His law. Now considering David's track record, if God said that David kept the law, there most be something more to keeping the law then mere actions.

I dont agree with your statements in black because it contradict many scriptures.

Since I'm pressed for time, I do want to show you some wisdom from James.
James used Abraham offering Isaac to illustrate that Abraham's faith was trusting God's words nothing about the law. (430yrs before the law came)
James used Rahab the Harlot, the works of her faith was to believe God's word about given Israel the land own by her country. So with her great work of faith is that she helped God's people.

James is saying; faith has evidence (works) He is not contradicting Paul's teaching about the law and work.
You are trained to see the law in everywhere ......... I am sorry that we disagree on so much......

We can get tunnelvision on certian subjects and talk about Sabbath, the ten commandments, David, Daniel and the three Hebrew boys and never know the words of the New Covenant we're under and especially what Jesus has done for us.....

I do however agree that a clear understanding of the new covenant and what it means would go a long way in aiding our understanding in all things.

Thats not quite how it works... I was never trained in Adventism.

We are convicted of the truth of these matters in our own minds. It was not that important to me to be an Adventist that I accepted a bunch of ideas that never made sense to me... the simplicity of truth in Adventistism, convicted me of it's merit...

#7 According to K4c there is a lesson about "the law" in Jam 2:14-26

In these text James lesson is about faith and works.
James goes as far as to illustrating the works of the devil's faith in God's written word about him that cause him to tremble.

The illustration of Rahab's works of faith in God's word to hide the spies and lied to her great nation...She said......Jos 2:10 For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that [were] on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.

James is saying that faith is not an empty word, and your works (active faith in God's word) proves what you believe to be truth.

Actually brother, this new you is pleasant and refreshing. As long as you continue to be as courteous and respectful as you've been, we welcome your questions. I do understand your position with your family and if we can help in some way for the Lord to help you understand what your wife does, then praise be to God for His Spirit of wisdom!!!

There are many questions and answers in my heart for SDA members. I'd rather be with you than always siding with stories or making claims about you.
No man is sinless so I'm not called to judge you. I just want to love you....

When it comes to the word of God, I cant help myself but to question some of what you believe and where can I find certain doctrines in the scriptures.

It would probable ease your gaurds if I said the doctrine of faith is not about the absent of obedience. But I'm sure you'd put your gaurd right back up if I said, obedience is to the word of God, rather than to waht you call the law of God.

Hopefully we can talk some about what evangelical Christians call the doctrine of faith. I'll be compiling some scriptures to help that makes it plain.

Faith is only the means by which we walk. 2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

It has no saving power in itself. James 2:14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?

It must be accompanied by knowledge. James 2:17 So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.

Works are not blind acts that we do, but rather, they are acts based on foundational principles found in God's Law. Romans 2:13 The people who only listen to law are not right with God, but the people who obey law are the ones who are made right with God.

We have to come to understand that the Law promotes liberty. It frees people to live without fear of crime, it keeps God and man and man and man in fellowship. Those who understand this will use the Law as a means to nurture the abundant life and will be blessed in all that he does. James 1:22-25 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer that forgets but a doer that acts, he shall be blessed in his doing.

Without faith, all this is foolishness.
