Is anyone else here a General Baptist? We are becoming official members tomorrow of the wonderful church God led us to! I am SO Excited about this!!

I've never even heard of General Baptist. What's the difference from Southern Baptist?

I'm not certain - I'm just learning more and more every day. I know that we believe that salvation can be lost after being saved - that seems to be different. And I know that the missions are focused on seeding new churches.

Yep that would be a difference. Us Southern Baptists believe "once saved always saved"

This is from the GB website regarding still being able to be lost after being saved:
We believe that those who abide in Christ have the assurance of salvation. However, we believe that the Christian retrains his freedom of choice; therefore, it is possible for him to turn away from God and be finally lost.

General Baptist is in distinction from Particular Baptists. The former are more Arminian in their theology whilst the latter are Calvinistic.
