It’s been a minute since I’ve given you a gender-related post. A few reasons, but it all boils down to: a lack of time to deal thoughtfully with gender news, rather than just letting this blog be dominated by endless link-dumping.
But I thought it was time to crack the knuckles and get back on it. It won’t take long but it’s important.
A couple of days ago, members of the US branch of Women’s Declaration International met in Portland.
Trans activists were not happy. And we can confidently replace “trans activists” with the far simpler “men.”
Nope. Got to shut it down. Got to slash tires, intimidate and deploy pepper spray. Pepper spray.
All the while wearing masks, of course. Of course.

But no…we can’t have that. Conversations? About protecting women and children?A group of women critical of gender ideology were physically assaulted in Portland by masked trans activists associated with Antifa, resulting in several women being taken to the hospital. Leaders and members of the US chapter of Women’s Declaration International (WDI), which aims to protect “the sex-based rights of women and girls,” were also threatened with death, called “fascists,” sprayed in the eyes with mace, and had their car tires slashed in the middle of the night.
On November 19, WDI planned an event at the Hollywood branch of the Multnomah County Library, quickly cancelling the plans to due to security concerns. Speaking with Reduxx, WDI USA president and author Kara Dansky explained that the goal of the event was to “have a conversation about the importance of protecting women and children in society” and voice concerns about gender ideology.
