So this means it is OK to use marijuana? He clearly says "ALL" seed-bearing plants.

Thing is, there are all kinds of things that are poisonous to eat...so yes, the statement in Gen doesnt on the face of it, make much .sense. However, some would say that originally ALL the plants God referred to were good to eat...but after the Fall, then the nature of things changed. But there are people who'd be able to go into detail about that..I don'tknow enough about it.

Now you run into some of the same issues the Church faces. In that you will find God says there is freedom, but the Law of man says there is not. We are bound to the law of our governments, because God has given them authority over us, we have to observe the law of our government as the law of God So long as they do not directly conflict with a command from God.

If God had issued a direct command some thing like: "thou shalt smoke a fatty every day" then we would not be bound by what the government has decreed. That said, we have no such command, only a blanket statement speaking towards freedom in our diet. To which the God appointed governing authority has placed restrictions on those freedoms. So in this case the law of the land speaks toward specifics where the word of God doesnot. Because of this we are bound by the law of the land.

2) Or ground is cursed because of his actions therefore there is a possibility the curse affected the plants as well to make them dangerous to man.


3) Adam and Eve became sustainable to poison once they fell from grace.


4) The instructions are only meant for Adam and Eve not us.

1) No. All the seed bearing plants of EARTH, not the Garden of Eden. Why would God create an obsolete plant? Why would God create a "pointless" plant? Are you saying it serves absolutely no point at all?

Let's face it unless we are God Himself we will never actually know what all plants on earth meant at that point of time. Maybe when God commanded Adam all plants are actually edible. To try to scrutinize to the letter what is written and get a solid answer is next to impossible. God might have done something to the world after chasing Adam out from Eden.

Like a Chinese saying "When drawing a man you don't draw the innards as well". Merely saying that God doesn't need to tell Adam all that He has done after kicking him out. God doesn't need to tell Adam what will happen to the animals, plants and Eden itself. All Adam needs to know is that because he disobeyed God the earth is cursed and he will need to toil the earth for food which pale in comparison to the good food he freely enjoyed before.

If you want to try something you know for a fact is harmful to your body its really up to you. God give man freewill to do what he likes and a sound mind to learn & judge the consequences of his actions.

Eating marijuana is not harmful in the slightest. Fact. The only bad thing about marijuana is the fact that when you smoke it, you are smoking something. Smoking anything is bad for you. Eating has (factually) been proven to be completely harmless to the body.

It has been eaten for thousands of years and used as a herb for flavour. Not to mention all the medicinal uses the Chinese had for it over 4000 years ago.

I guess you're not getting the point. My point is reading the Bible, different people can have different interpretations. My view point is that the other details besides Adam disobedience is not important therefore not explained further in the Bible. Points like how tall is Adam, what plants look like in Eden or how big is Eden are not important for us in relation to understanding God.

Is like when your mom asked you "What would you like to have?" you replied in saying "Pizza made by an monk staying on top of a mountain" and continue by saying "Mom you did say what I like to have". You caught your own mom in her words. Others might interpret your mom saying as

1) something available in the kitchen
2) departmental store near-by
3) take-away

But generally I feel you post not to get people's opinion merely to see how you can catch people in their wordings and stump them.

Yes..well it probably is an 'evil weed' when misused, same as anything else. But I think your OP was a trifle confusing.
Things aren't necessarilly good or bad in themselves, it's what you do with them, or how you use them, that makes the difference.

More to the point perhaps, is, why are some plants poisonous to eat (especially if uncooked), if God said all seed-bearing plants were ok for eating - and a previous poster has made some attempt to answer that..but as another poster said, we don't know all the ins and outs of things.

If you interpret it that way by all means eat. If it is legal in your country go ahead. Why care what other Christians say or other people for the matter of fact. Apparently you don't so why bother asking things you're already convinced otherwise. No one here in the forum is stopping you.

I'm (Christian) not making a fuss about "Evil Weed". In fact I have bigger things to worry about like the economy of my country and the welfare of my family.
