I'm pretty sure CF doesn't allow talk of emulators/ROMs on the site because they(well, the ROMs) are illegal. But I'm not completely sure, just telling you guys that this thread might get closed.

On subject, I used to use emulators/ROMs but I don't really anymore.

actually roms are not illegal. Roms are considered back-ups for games like nintendo that come in cartridges that cannot be backed up.

I can legally Play Legend of Zelda: Orcle of Seasons because i own the real thing.

I can play a bunch of PS2/N65 games as well, because i own the real thing.

i use zsnes...just got it recently.

its fun playing the games i loved when i was younger, as compared to xbox and ps2 games now. But its dishearting seeing the horrible graphics (which were awsome back then) and the even more horrible music.
but still it's nice to hark back to the days of bomberman, and mega man, and loads of mario games....and who's to forget old school final fantasy?

as for a n64 emulator, i have yet to run into one, and i doubt i can handle the keyboard controls replacing the n64 controller, it took me long enough to get used to the snes on my keyboard

Just so you know, you don't actually have to own the game. So long as you delete the ROM in 24 hours.

But really, it's more of a general rule. These games don't generate revenue anymore, so company's such as Nintendo only plop down that law for copyright purposes or the current gen.

I only download ROMs for games I actually have the cartridges for. The legality of this is probably questionable, but... It's a pretty hard case to make. The chances of a court telling me to stop are roughly nil.
