Maybe some of the the Fundamentalist could tackle this question: If the draft is reinstated, should Gays be exempt from having to serve ?
No, if the draft is reinstated there is no good reason that a homosexual should be exempt. I am curious however as to why this question was directed to fundamentalists?

Sounds like a silly mandate to me..I don't see why homosexuals can't serve in the military. The reason I directed it primarily to fundamentalist, is because I keep hearing from certain Fundies that gays should not be allowed to serve in the military. Example: Texas Tig has run a recent post and one a while back challenging Gays right to serve their country. So I believe that one cannot have it both ways. If one is deemed unfit to serve their country because of their sexuality, then if the draft is reinstated, I belive Gays should be exempt.
Thanks for the answer and I must say your conclusion seems reasonable. I am certainly a Fundamentalist but I don't agree that homosexuals should not be permitted to serve. I am also speaking as a veteran (I was a Corpsman who served in a Marine Unit) and as the member of a long time military family. I will however state that while I don't agree with brother TIG I defend his right to voice his opinion. (I say that because recently a family member was called an ignorant bigot who didn't even deserve the right to speech if he couldn't do it in a manner that was not insulting to homosexuals) To be honest he doesn't hate homosexuals he just doesn't know how to say that he feels homosexual sex is a sin without sounding bad.The reason I directed it primarily to fundamentalist, is because I keep hearing from certain Fundies that gays should not be allowed to serve in the military. It’s not like gays don’t already know that most Christian’s find gay sex sinful. What would be the point in stating the obvious? There are many things that close friends and family of mine do or believe that I find offensive and yet I don’t find it hard to keep my thoughts to myself; I still love them all the same. Unless the ‘sin’ is harming me or a child I keep mouth shut. When someone tells me that I am sinning it is usually accompanied with a “warning” about the eternal consequences of my actions, and yes I am very much offended when that occurs. How could I not be? I have essentially just been told that I am so vile, disgusting and evil that I am worthy of everlasting torment; how else should I feel? They may tell me that they are only speaking for God, but unless they are going to tell me they disagree with their god, then they must believe this also. Offended? You bet!he just doesn't know how to say that he feels homosexual sex is a sin without sounding bad.
no. we all live in the same country, we should all be able to die for it, if called upon.

Anyway thanks again for answering my question.

I was referring to the US, since we've had a draft in the past, and I thought thats what the OP was referring to.Actually, no we don't - this is an international forum.
The answer to that will probably throw this thread way off. All I can say is that protecting freedom is well worth it, and then some. God bless. And is a country really worth dying (or indeed killing) for? It's just a bit of soil. There are far more important things in the world.

Paul writes that we are all sinners and that my sin whatever it may be is no worse or better than yours, whatever it may be. I am sorry you are offended by that but Paul wrote that many would be. The individual I am speaking of was specifically asked his opinion and then berated because he voiced it, it was not freely offered. It’s not like gays don’t already know that most Christian’s find gay sex sinful. I think there are some things worth dieing and killing for. For example I would kill to protect my Children or my Wife. I guess the question is "are ideals worth dieing or killing for?" That is a different question; one I have pondered over the years and not really come to any clear decision about.Actually, no we don't - this is an international forum.
