Notice that America is moving over to the religion of equality. Anybody who does not fully commit to the religion of equality is in trouble. There is no going back. Once you buy into the equality logic then it's over.

The religion of equality is where most atheists like to hang out.

My spouse teaches a lesson where the students compose formal letters to their congresscritter, asking them to take action on some issue of interest to the individual student.

In a situation similar to that, where the teacher/school is not setting the agenda, there would be no problem with what you suggest.

It warms my heart to hear about the next generation’s willingness to be more inclusive and kinder than the ones that came before them.

Good on them for sticking up for their gay and trans classmates against these bullies with nothing better to do than to make a child’s life harder than it ever needs to be.
