What kind of a country do we live in where gays can openly oppose a bill that would make buying sex with children a felony? They claim it will hurt the gay community.

If america had any sense of morals, values and standards these people would be arrested for opposing a bill that is against having sex with children. They should become registered sex offenders just for this alone.

Anyone that isn't against diddling kids has no place in a civilized society. It just goes to show how emboldened the gay community has become when they do this publicly and openly.

If they claim it will effect gays more then doesn't that tell us all something about gays? Maybe tells us gays will be impacted because the gays are having sex with kids the most?

May God help America, because we really could use his help.

We cannot judge anyone's future, or eternity, but we do still have to make laws and judge people for certain kinds of actions both around the world, and here in this country, and this is most definitely one of them most definitely.

This world is really, really messed up nowadays.

God Bless.

Pay close attention to items 7 and 8 at the very bottom.

Yeah, well tell them "too bad", because there does have to be some laws, or limits, and certain things do have to be defined, etc.

And while we cannot judge another person's future, or eternity, etc, there still do have to be some standards of right and wrong for us imperfect beings in the here and now and before we are judged by God and/or get into eternity, etc.

God Bless.

Now, I'm not always entirely comfortable being around some children anymore, etc. I've done had a family and kids and raised children already, but live alone now, and am getting up there in years, and just kinda feel like I'm past that age and stage in my life now also. That could maybe just be initial also, since I'm just not ever around them very much anymore now also, etc. I also feel like it's also hard for me to relate anymore to them most of the time anymore now also, etc. But while I may not care to be around them very much anymore, etc, I still do care about them still forevermore, etc. And know that they should be allowed to remain children for as long as possible, etc, and that that is "sacred", and needs to be very much greatly protected also, etc. It's unthinkable to me to harm a child, and this that some people are trying to do is unthinkable to me also, etc. So if you don't know to never harm or violate a child just simply because it's "wrong", etc, then I do not in any way feel sorry for you also, etc. And if you ever commit any kind of bad or evil acts against a child, then you need to know that you are also going to jail and/or prison for a time for it also, etc.

The objection to this kind of law I also just do not at all understand also, and also just do not have the words for also, etc.

They need to pass this law, and forget anyone who would think otherwise, etc.

Those who know right from wrong, and always have enough respect for it to stick to it, don't have anything to fear, etc.

God Bless.

The bill before the amendment had issues. Here is an article from Reason explaining some of them. California Democrats 'water down' sex trafficking bill. Good.

As for why LGBT folx are against this? Well, they have a point. LGBT people are over-policed and much more likely to be arrested, to begin with. That is especially true with sex-related crimes, though I have not been able to find hard data on solicitation specifically.

I looked into this. I can't find any record of such a gathering taking place or any organization called the "National Coalition of Gay Organizations". I did find a newspaper article from the early 80s expressing skepticism about it though. Even if it is real, there is no indication it wasn't like 5 radicals who proposed it or that it is representative of even a substantial portion of the LGBT community.

"Over-policed"? Isn't that like saying, "murderers are over-policed and more like to be arrested for death-related crimes"?

No, it's saying IN GNERAL, LGBT folx are more likely to be arrested.
Before you added, "for sex-related crimes." Why drop that now?

But I can generalize, too. "Criminals are more likely to be arrested than non-criminals."

I put in "especially", which indicates a higher likelihood for a particular type of crime, just like Black men are more likely to be arrested for drug offenses than white men, even though usage rates are similar.

Not "just like", but perhaps similar. Black men are more likely to be arrested for drug offenses because black are more likely to commit drug offenses. Sexual perverted people are more likely to be arrested for sex-related crimes, otherwise known as sex perversions, because they are already in a sexual perverted mindset. The difference is that black men are not defined by their criminal intent, but LGBT... people are exclusively defined by their sexual perversions, since that's what those labeks, which they knowingly apply to themselves, mean.

Get more information about the bill.

The bill, SB1414, "was introduced in April by state Sens. Shannon Grove (R–Bakersfield), Anna Caballero (D–Merced), and Susan Rubio (D–Baldwin Park). It would raise the penalties for soliciting a minor for prostitution."

hmmm.....brought by Democrats to raise penalities for soliciting a minor.

The Democratic led State Senate passed the bill 36 - 0

Regarding the amendments:
Under current California law, soliciting someone an offender knows or reasonably should know is a minor for prostitution is a misdemeanor, punishable by mandatory minimum imprisonment of 2 days in county jail and a possible punishment of up to one year in jail and a $10,000 fine.
As introduced, the bill would have raised the offense to a felony and the punishment up to a possible four years in state prison and a fine of $25,000, "regardless of whether" defendants knew or should have known the person was a minor and regardless of whether defendants were themselves above age 18. It also included sex offender registration requirements.
The original version had no mens rea component for applying enhanced penalties—that is, it didn't matter if the person charged had no reason to believe the person solicited was under age 18. And it had no exceptions for when the person doing the soliciting was also a minor.
Under the amended versions of SB 1414, solicitation of a minor would sometimes be a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in county jail and sometimes be a felony punishable by up to three years in county jail. The stronger punishment would be available only when the defendant was 18 or older and "knew or should have known that the person who was solicited was a minor at the time of the offense." And it would only apply when "the solicited minor was under 16 years of age at the time of the offense, or if the person solicited was under 18 years of age at the time of the offense and the person solicited was a victim of human trafficking." A second or subsequent offense would always be a felony, and an offender more than 10 years older than the solicited minor would have to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
Note that nothing in the bill (as introduced or amended) would change penalties for people who force or coerce minors into prostitution. Nor would it affect the laws surrounding sexual activity with a minor. This is about solicitation, which is essentially a speech crime—the asking about sexual activity or offering of money for sex.
"The bill does not require physical contact or sexual contact with the minor victim," according to the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights. "There are already felony crimes associated with actual lewd or sexual contact with a minor."

I hope the bill passes. There are complaints by some that the amendments water down the bill, but they add clarification.

The LBTGQ community is worried that they will get a felony when they do not realize the other person is 16 or 17. But soliciting is a illegal. The LBTGQ community pushes things too far.

But keep in mind that this bill was brought by Democrats and passed a Democratic led Senate.

Well at least they're finally coming out of the closet about it instead of claiming it's false.
I don’t think most of them are actually predators, but some go after barely legal adults (as do straight people).

There in one of those 'parades' people chanting 'we are queer we are coming for your children' even if it was a joke, you don't joke about that, is a no no, and the worst part is that they already came for your children, they teach that stuff to kids in schools, 30 percent of teens identify as lgbt. exponential growth compared to other years. People have lost custody of kids for not accepting their 'new gender'.

This is messed up, and people are still afraid of standing up to this.

I'm not sure if there's a gay and straight factor involved per se. It's in a class of its own. The idea with the alphabet rainbow bunch is to have a society where there's no restrictions on people loving each other sexually.

I believe that's true as well.
I also think that there are a lot of "straight" people that have equally confused morals or seared conscious' (or whatever), that support the idea that nobody should impose morals or ethics on anyone, about anything.

Unless they feel violated in some way.

Check this out. LGBTQIAXYZ2+Kids has become epidemic. What stood out the most is the kids telling the teachers what to do and leaving the parents out of it. This way all the grooming they're put through comes out as all their idea and they're the ones calling the shots.
