Well, we're talking about California here, in the 2022-23 school year, 53% of California students failed to meet the English Language Arts standard on the CAASPP test, and an estimated 28% of adults struggle with basic English literacy.Well the US literacy rate was 79% in 2024, so this may be part of the problem.
Sounds like a problem across the entire USA. Maybe there should be something that tackled education across the whole nation... Maybe a department or something. Just another priority that should be addressed by that governor, but isn't.
I do note that some of the Press Office (@GovPressOffice) posts are 'signed' "GCN". I don't know if that means Newsom personally wrote them -- it seems doubtful.
Trust me, it's a California problem. It ranks 47th in the nation when it comes to basic literacy, with 28% of all adults in the state being considered illiterate--which is second only to New Mexico (another state dominated by democrats).Sounds like a problem across the entire USA. I love how he nails it - the issues of the day summed up with such clarity.
And when Fox try to attack him for it - there's a vast difference at play.
Gavin can turn it off in a second - he's just having fun.
But Fox's guy? He can't help it. That IS him!
This is such an ironic twist in American political strategy!
The 79% literacy rate is among the whole US population. It's not a one state issue or a partisan issue, even though you keep wanting to make it one.Trust me, it's a California problem. Y'know, it seems odd to me that the same people who praise Trump for "owning the libs" now complain about Newsom (or whomever) doing the exact same thing to MAGA. Almost sounds like a double standard, huh?If the standard is that low for earning their keep, it shows just how wasteful the California state government really is with the taxpayer's dollars.
You think the "libs" now own Trump? They can't even keep their own party together. They obviously can't even come up with anything original, but need to resort to childish mockery for them to feel they've "won". But whatever. Open a social media account, write some mockery and post some memes and claim to win. Meanwhile, president Trump is president because the democrats LOST. Their current behavior is a demonstration as to why.Y'know, it seems odd to me that the same people who praise Trump for "owning the libs" now complain about Newsom (or whomever) doing the exact same thing to MAGA. -- A2SG, I guess some people don't like a taste of their own medicine.....
Well, the Governor Newsom Press Office account seems to be doing a good job of it.You think the "libs" now own Trump?
Um, there is no "lib" party. The Democratic party, though, is still together, even though some have voiced disagreement with the direction of the party. Nothing new there, though, Democrats have often voiced disagreement with the direction of the party. They can't even keep their own party together.
Yeah, I agree the Governor Newsom Press Office account has aped Trump's style of childish mockery pretty well there. They obviously can't even come up with anything original, but need to resort to childish mockery for them to feel they've "won". But whatever.
Um, Trump didn't run against Governor Newsom, just so you know. As far as I know, Vice President Harris has nothing to do with this twitter feed.Open a social media account, write some mockery and post some memes and claim to win. Meanwhile, president Trump is president because the democrats LOST. Their current behavior is a demonstration as to why.
Of showing that Trump is under the governor's skin? Yep!Well, the Governor Newsom Press Office account seems to be doing a good job of it.
Too bad the reasonable ones aren't being listened to. Their constituents voted for Biden as their candidate, and they get Kamala forced upon them. Looks like democracy only applies to everyone else, but not the top of the party that uses/abuses the word.Um, there is no "lib" party. The Democratic party, though, is still together, even though some have voiced disagreement with the direction of the party. And have thereby admitted that Trump's ways are a winning strategy. Too bad Newsome's office isn't good on delivery though.Yeah, I agree the Governor Newsom Press Office account has aped Trump's style of childish mockery pretty well there.
Of course not! They want to forget what she's said and done that caused them to lose the election. So now they want to focus on the winner (the honorable President Donald J. Trump!).Um, Trump didn't run against Governor Newsom, just so you know. As far as I know, Vice President Harris has nothing to do with this twitter feed.
Laughing about a presidential candidate nearly being assassinated. Oh, how hilarious Newsom's Press office is! That'll increase his popularity!
Epic trolling.
Tears in my eyes. Some say its the most beautiful picture ever created, from the standpoint of eyes.
I dunno, it looks to be the other way around, I'd say. Gov. Newsom sure seems to be having fun with the whole thing.Of showing that Trump is under the governor's skin? Yep!
That's usually the case in politics. Heck, the GOP hasn't listened to a reasonable person since Trump got on board.Too bad the reasonable ones aren't being listened to.
I didn't think either one of them would have been my first choice, but that's how our system works, and has worked for generations. But there was nothing undemocratic about the previous election; Vice President Harris still faced the voters in the general election, which is more than can be said for former President Gerald Ford.Their constituents voted for Biden as their candidate, and they get Kamala forced upon them. Looks like democracy only applies to everyone else, but not the top of the party that uses/abuses the word.
Well, with a bit less than half the electorate, anyway. And that support seems to be waning....not that it matters, though, since Trump can't run for office again. I just wish someone would tell him that, he seems unclear on the concept. Then again, he often seems unclear on many issues involving the Constitution. And have thereby admitted that Trump's ways are a winning strategy.
I dunno, the X account seems to be doing the intended job pretty well. But I guess it all depends on which side of the mockery you're on.Too bad Newsome's office isn't good on delivery though.
Few presidential candidates have much of a political career after losing a bid for the Oval Office, so nothing new there. Can you name two things about Wendell Willkie, for example?Of course not! They want to forget what she's said and done that caused them to lose the election. So now they want to focus on the winner (the honorable President Donald J. Trump!).
At first I was sceptical - but wow - you are correct! Genuinely - thank you. I'll stick with my much loved "The Conversation" and other sites listed as least biased. This was a bit of a let-down. (That YouTube Algorithm knows how to suck us in hey?)What’s ironic is that you’re critical of Fox but then proceed to post a video from MSNBC. MSNBC is the Fox of the left.
Are you claiming the shooting was also fake, along with the firefighter that died?Laughing about his fake ear wound.
He can have all the fun he wants laughing about attempted political assassinations and people dying. Let's see how hard he's laughing when it all comes back to bite him later. He's clearly a short-term thinker.I dunno, it looks to be the other way around, I'd say. Gov. Newsom sure seems to be having fun with the whole thing.
