Hi everybody!
First off, mods, this is intended to be an aid for Bible study and I am in no way connected with this site. But, if after saying this, you still find this inappropriate, please let me know.
Recently, I was looking for a good study Bible for a masters class I am taking. I went to the local Christian bookstore to take a look at what was available. I decided on 2 or 3 Bibles that I would like to have, but together, they totalled over $150. Wow. Each had a different tool in them for study (1 Greek/Hebrew study Bible, one Bible that had 4 translations in it, and one general exposition study Bible), so I could use all 3. The one I wanted most that would be most useful by itself was $80 (I wanted the leather one). So, I went to Barnes and Noble and Books a Million to check prices there. They were about the same (over $75).
So, I decided to try online. I ended up getting the $80 for $24 (new) and the other two for $40 total (used but unmarked/ good condition). If anyone is looking for books and isn't worried about them being used, check out www.abebooks.com. They are a grouping of used booksellers that sell through this website. Every book I've searched for has been there and at low prices (except for 2 textbooks, which were cheaper to get new at a different online seller). This is a great site that-again I am not connected with in any way- that has been a great resource to me in my Bible study and spiritual growth. It is not a Christian-only site, though. They sell every book imaginable.
God bless you,
Dave
