He posted it on Twitter. Millions of people heard about it, And as a consquence, Iran (and all our other enemies in the world) have a better idea of how good our satellite intelligence is. It was the American media that reported on it.

He didn't do that. He just put classified material out on the internet, without formally declassifying it. It's declassified now, because he let the world see it. But even if he had, it still would have damaged American security.
Because the shadows on the site in the picture give a precise time for the shot, Iranian intelligence people can now identify the satellite that took it, which gives them a leg up on hiding things from us.
