Who likes gardening? What do you garden or would you like to garden someday?

Pictures if you have gardens would be awesome or just pictures of gardens you like would be fantastic too! :D

If you do garden, what are some tips you could give to other gardeners especially beginners? Any life hacks when it comes to getting down in the dirt?

I would loveee to have a salsa garden... tomatoes, onions, jalapeno peppers, garlic, etc anything that goes into salsa, it would be in my garden.

I'd also like to have an herb garden and flower garden.

I swear. You top all for best thread maker. Lol

I would love to have enough land one day to hold a garden. I'm not much of a greenthumb personally, but I would love to allow a sharecropper to come on and do it themselves and let them split have the harvest with me.

If there isn't enough room for garden, you can always try container gardening. Some varieties of plants are also designed for containers - i.e. some tomato plants give high yields even when in a container. There's also certain types of plants and flowers you can utilize that help deter insects, which could otherwise ruin your crops.

I love experimenting with all kinds of different peppers myself.

I have been taking care of my dads garden for him. He had surgery so he can't do it this summer. I am enjoying it.

Oh yeah? What kind of things is he growing?

He grows tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, squash, zucchini. I also learned last night that his garden used to be bigger than it is now and he used to grow more things but as he has gotten older he's had to cut back. He had a garden while I was growing up and I would go out and help him then too.

I keep saying I want to grow a garden. But all the stuff I want to grow uses too much water. I should plant one though. I wonder if its too late this year. I want to grow corn. :D

Yummy!

We had a neighbor who grew rows and rows of corn and every year she'd give us heaps of it! We'd be eating corn at practically every meal. After awhile we got a bit sick of it and so the next year that she offered us some we politely turned her down. Lol

I didn't even read your post fully until just now after my story about...corn! :p

I'm not real sure. I learned that planting is different for a lot of different states. I would do a bit of research regarding your state and when it is a good time to plant corn. :D

Also I don't know if this would be much help, but I found this link too. The Beginner's Guide to Growing Corn: All You Need To Know About Planting Corn

Maybe it's just a stereotype but I always see elderly people either watering their lawn, or tending to their flower gardens, or veggie/herb gardens. And I want to be that kind of lady!

Eww. I love succulents. The crazier looking cacti the better. Edit: Man, I had so many other great pics posted but this browser hates CF and I lost half of them.

I've never really seen one in person. I don't think they're very common around here. Maybe it's a location thing?
I think so. You've never seen a cactus in person? :sigh:
One great thing about autumn is the corn mazes that will be going on. Have you ever been to a corn maze?
