CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My oldest's last day of school was Tuesday. She did extremely well on her report card. Although it's kindergarten they have a very different way of reporting progress. She got EL (Expected Level) on everything, except 2 - reading and writing - which she got BE (Beyond Expected Level). We are so proud!!!

I was fortunate in getting this laptop. It's an IBM Thinkpad and was selling for $100. It was broken. Hubby fixes computers as his job. So he fixed this baby up and now it's mine and works great!!!

My parents always threatened us w/military school....and the one who never caused any problems ended up being a marine

I've got to head out now. I do my former pastor's sermon powerpoints and he jsut sent it to me. With the holiday tomorrow, I've got to get it done today. Usually takes me 3 hours - finding graphics and figuring out what parts of his sermon will make good slides.
