What do you think should be the approx. game length of action, adventure, action-adventure, and/or rpg games? To me, Action should be about 15 hours, Adventure, 40 hours, Action-Adventure 15-30 hours, and RPG should be about 30-60 hours long. This is including the time that it should take to complete it with PERFECTION, such as every secret unlocked, every item found, every stage beaten, and so on. You know what I mean.

well, i like long games! the kind that take you months to beat! I enjoyed the length of half-life ... 70 hours i believe, also the length of the Zelda games are good too, although it doesnt take me long to beat them, but they are still a good length. I dont like short games, like i like Jedi Academy, but its too short, its like 20 hours! But the multiplayer is excellent!

Well I really only play sports and RPG's. So I will only include the RPG times. When Nintendo first came out and they had their line of RPG like Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana, Dragon Warrior and etc.. You were expected to put in 80-100 hours in a RPG game. Now with very intense graphics it makes it harder for the developers to make the games very lengthy. I would say I am happy with the 40 hour avg.

I like a game to take some time. We played through "Heroes" in less than a week. That wasn't cool at all. If I'm going to pay fifty dollars per game, then I want to get a buck an hour out of it at least. Heroes was a blast but way too short. If a game is going to be short, then it better have some good replay value.
At least make the game last more than a weekend.

I noticed this too. New games put too much into the visuals that you 1) need a top end super PC to play anything new now and 2)The game length suffers.

I like a game to last as long as possible, and if it is short it had better have good replay value!
